As far as I know , there are two main methods to solve the windows password problem as follows:
1st Method:
Start system and when you see Windows Welcome screen / Login screen, press ctrl+alt+del keys twice and it'll show Classic Login box. Now type Administrator (without quotes) in Username and leave Password field blank. Now press Enter and you should be able to log in Windows.
Now you can reset your account password from Control Panel - User Accounts.
Same thing can be done using Safe Mode. In Safe Mode Windows will show this in-built Administrator account in Login screen.
2th Method:
Windows password Recovery software:
for example:Windows Password Recovery It is easy and convenient to use.

Call Dell technical support at 800-624-9896, confirm you are an authorized user of the system, and they will assist you in clearing the password (They will have to generate a master password)
You will also have to do a transfer of ownership if not done already:

You can easily change or wipe out your Administrator password for free during a Windows XP Repair. Here’s how with a step-by-step description of the initial Repair process included for newbie’s. 1. Place your Windows XP CD in your cd-rom and start your computer (it’s assumed here that your XP CD is bootable – as it should be - and that you have your bios set to boot from CD)
2. Keep your eye on the screen messages for booting to your cd Typically, it will be “Press any key to boot from cd”
3. Once you get in, the first screen will indicate that Setup is inspecting your system and loading files.

4. When you get to the Welcome to Setup screen, press ENTER to Setup Windows now
5. The Licensing Agreement comes next - Press F8 to accept it.
6. The next screen is the Setup screen which gives you the option to do a Repair.

It should read something like “If one of the following Windows XP installations is damaged, Setup can try to repair it”
Use the up and down arrow keys to select your XP installation (if you only have one, it should already be selected) and press R to begin the Repair process.
7. Let the Repair run. Setup will now check your disks and then start copying files which can take several minutes.
8. Shortly after the Copying Files stage, you will be required to reboot. (this will happen automatically – you will see a progress bar stating “Your computer will reboot in 15 seconds”
9. During the reboot, do not make the mistake of “pressing any key” to boot from the CD again! Setup will resume automatically with the standard billboard screens and you will notice Installing Windows is highlighted.
10. Keep your eye on the lower left hand side of the screen and when you see the Installing Devices progress bar, press SHIFT + F10. This is the security hole! A command console will now open up giving you the potential for wide access to your system.
11. At the prompt, type NUSRMGR.CPL and press Enter. Voila! You have just gained graphical access to your User Accounts in the Control Panel.
12. Now simply pick the account you need to change and remove or change your password as you prefer. If you want to log on without having to enter your new password, you can type control userpasswords2 at the prompt and choose to log on without being asked for password. After you’ve made your changes close the windows, exit the command box and continue on with the Repair (have your Product key handy).
13. Once the Repair is done, you will be able to log on with your new password (or without a password if you chose not to use one or if you chose not to be asked for a password). Your programs and personalized settings should remain intact.

Thank you!

Dude, Can you send me a Bootable ISO CD of Dell Asset/Service Tag BIOS Reset Tool........Please

Hello, you can download this tool here:

http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/CmosPwd

Dell

The official method is to contact Dell Technical Support. Dell Technical Support will request the Service Tag and Express Service Code from the bottom of the Latitude. If the current user is not the original Latitude owner, Dell will transfer the used Latitude's registration from the original owner with only the Service Tag and Express Service Code from the tag on the laptop.

  • Dell Optiplex: Remove the PSWD jumper
  • For most Dell Dimension desktops, the steps to reset a BIOS password and clear all CMOS settings are:
    • Locate the 3-pin CMOS password reset jumper on the system board.
    • Remove the jumper plug from pins 1 and 2.
    • Place the jumper plug on pins 2 and 3 and wait approximately 5 seconds.
    • Replace the jumper plug on pins 1 and 2.

Try the backdoor password: Dell

The another method is: by Using the Motherboard Jumper: In most motherboards CMOS battery is soldered, which makes it difficult to remove the battery. In this case we use another method.
Almost all motherboards contain a jumper that can clear all CMOS settings along with the BIOS password. The location of this jumper varies depending upon the motherboard brand. You should read your motherboard manual to check its location. If you don't have the manual then look for the jumpers near the CMOS battery. Most of the manufacturer label the jumper as CLR, CLEAR, CLEAR CMOS, etc.
When you find the jumper, look carefully. There will be 3 pins and the jumper will be joining the center pin to either left or right pin. What you need to do, is remove the jumper and join the center pin to the opposite pin. e.g. if the jumper joins center pin to left pin, then remove it and join center pin to right pin. Now wait for a few seconds and then again remove the jumper and join the center pin to left pin.
Make sure to turn the PC off, and remove the battery and power cord
( if it is a laptop ) before you continue.

Here is a picture how it looks like:

The default setting is:pin 1 to 2, to clear cmos: 2 to 3.

Best of luck :-)

How do i change my administation name

You can remove or change the Window's User or administrator's password. You need access to a computer with Internet access to download the Hiren's Boot CD and burn it onto a CD. Then insert this CD into the laptop/computer and boot up the laptop/computer with the Hiren's CD and follow the instructions. There are very useful utilities CD and it a Linux boot CD which contains quite a lot of Utility programs including a password removal program. Remove Administrator Password from Bios ver A06 Dell Latitude 500 GT.

When a laptop BIOS is locked with password, a checksum of that password is stored to a sector of the FlashROM - this is a chip on the mainboard of the device which also contains the BIOS and other settings.
For most brands, this checksum is displayed after entering an invalid password for the third time. (For Dell laptops only the service tag # is needed.)
using this number a randomly generated password can be calculated. Which is the reason this number is displayed and is the way the manufactures tech support calculates a password. We use the same method to calculate a password for your laptop www.bios-unlock.com

The BIOS-password exists for _your_ protection; if a thief is in possession of your computer, the password prevents the thief from using the stolen computer.

As the owner of the computer, find the original sales-receipt, to prove ownership, and telephone Dell, to get assistance from Dell to bypass that password.
