Leaking Water shorts out machine

At first we noticed water on the counter and thoroughly cleaned the machine. But this did not fix the problem and the machine began shorting out. Would work for a few cups then wouldnt. I have replaced the gasket to the water tray (as we believed this to be the problem) but it has not fixed the issue. Help! We love this machine!

Re: Leaking Water shorts out machine

I had the same problem. What may be the problem is the tiny water drip hole that feeds the drip tray is blocked with coffee sludge. Open the machine and remove the dump bucket, drip tray, and the brew group. Behind the brew group is a flat plastic piece which has a small drip hole at the bottom of it. This may be blocked which causes the water that should go into the drip tray to build up and overflow inside the machine running onto the countertop. Clean out the area behind the little drip hole and the hole itself. This should cure it.

Re: Leaking Water shorts out machine

I had the same problem after 4 years of use. At first it leaked a little bit, but made good coffee. Eventually it leaked a lot more and would short out. I sent it for repair and they replaced the boiler, which was cracked, which solved teh big leak/shorting problem. But it continued to have the smaller leak. I suspect there is a tube or valve with a leak. Wish I could run it with the case off to observe where the leak is.

You probably have an internal leak. You should have a service center look at it.

Leaking from the bottom

If it does it whenever the tank is put on the machine then the hose from the tank is disconnected.
If it does it when the machine is brewing coffee or after, then clean the chamber behind the brew unit, under the white plastic valve.
If it is leaking when making steam or hot water then the booster boilerhas a leak.

Why would there be internal leaking into the tray

Never use vinegar to clean your machine. It is possible that the orings are worn out on the brew unit.

Bunn coffee maker leaks all over the counter. What

there's probably a 'silicon rubber' hose that feeds hot water to the 'grounds basket'- it may be loose, or damaged. is it leaking water, or coffee?? we have a bunn 8-cup, which has a pre-heated water tank that brews a pot in about 3 min. energy waster, but when you need coffee, you need coffee!!! is your filter holder properly centered? is the carafe lid hole clean and un-obstructed?
if it's leaking water, and not too costly to replace- you may consider replacing it with a new one!
good luck!

Saeco magic deluxe is leaking water

Either two faults, one is that the boiler is leaking ( fix this straight away as water can spray on main circuit board and short out ) very costly to repair if both needs replacing. Second the water runoff to the front tray is blocked with coffee grime . Instead of the water left over when the brewer dissengages running off to the front tray it overflows into the machine. Hope this helps

The machine leaks water all over the counter when starting brew

My keurig did the same thing, the rubber grommet around the part that punctures the cup gets grounds on it and prevents a complete seal. Pop of the grommet and clean it and it will be good as new.

Saeco Vienna leaking

We had this problem and it was overflow from a clog -- check the hole where excess water drains into the drip tray to see if it is full of grounds. Cleaned it out with a twistie tie and flushed w/ water. That stopped the water on our counter!
