Reset all settings

On some Acer laptops pressing alt+F10 or alt+F8 as soon as the laptop starts will trigger a factory restoration process. On others you can press F8 to get advanced start up options, select "Repair My Computer", from there you will be asked to select your username to logon, sometimes there are then extra options there in the repair enviroment to restore the computer to Acer factory settings.

Restore laptop to factory settings

Hi,
you can restore it by inserting the Reset Disk to re-install the OS;
you can insert the manufacturer's disk to reset to Factory Settings;

you can turn off/ reboot your pc, press f8/12 before Windows logo and see the settings you need.

On Windows 8, go to Charms, choose Settings, open your PC settings, see Recovery, choose one of the given options.

Hope it helps!

-Janis.

My A305-S6857 freeze every time when I tried to login. I cannot access to my desktop.

Try doing a startup repair by pressing F8 repeatedly on startup. On the options menu, choose 'repair my computer'. If this isn't successful you can try running your antivirus software in safe mode to check for any infections. Press F8 as before and choose safe mode. If this works, you can also check your event viewer to see if there are any system errors recorded: control panel>system and security>administrative tools>event viewer. Expand the critical and error menus under 'summary of administrative events' You can double click on an event for further detail and the event ID which may help you troubleshoot the problem further.

    In most cases you need to press F8 at boot like going into safe mode when booting the computer. If the option is not there then it is possible that the option is not setup properly. Note I have seen this from time to time.

    Another way to tell is go into my computer and for a 2nd hard drive listed as recovery. If it is there and/or you knew it was there you just can not boot into Windows. Let me know and I can give you the steps to readd the recovery option to the startup.
