If your room is not getting cold enough when your A/C is turned on, It is time for a good cleaning. There are a variety of factors that may cause your A/C to not cool your house. With that said, here is a diagnostic article that provides the most probable causes of your A/C's failure to cool your house, and from there you can read it and then, step by step, rule out each possible cause listed in the article:

http://yourhandymanzone.com/Your_Handyman_Zone_How_To_Pages_Home_Improvement_Zone_Cooling_Ventilation_Systems_Central_Air_Conditioning_Does_Not_Cool.htm

Of course, a low level of Freon/refrigerant may be the problem, but there may be other problem causes as well, as noted in the article---it may just be that debris is obstructing your AC as well. Read the article, and, if need be, take advantage of the text-link for free four (4) quotes and "pick the brain"--seek the advice--of these local technicians who offer you a free quote to discern what could be the problem.

Maytag m6x06f2a like new but doest blow cold air

Make sure the Thermostat is set correctly! The problem with mine was the temp in the house was colder than my A/C lowest thermostat setting.I had my AC temp setting on 66 degrees. The temp in the house was a little lower so the AC didnt kick on just the fan blowing cool air and no compressor working. The next day it was warmer out and the house temp was 79. So when I powered up the AC set at 66 i heard the compressor kick in and the AC worked fine.

Air conditioning does not blow cold air in my 2004 nissan x terra

If your a/c compressor kicks on and your manifold gauges show proper hi/lo readings then I would inspect the blend door. The blend door is a motor that moves back and forth when u set the temp for hot or cold . In your case, it may be stuck in the same position. The blend door is located in the dash, usually behind the glove box or in that general area. I hope you are able to fix your problem. Scott

Have a frigidare wall ac (FAA067P7A). Worked 1st year we had it but problems after. Only time compressor kicks in is when we hit reset button. Then cold air comes out for couple minutes then compressor...

The compressor is stopping on overload. There is either a weak breaker or an electrical problem causing the overload to open the circuit and stop the compressor. It has to be taken apart to determine what is or is not going on.

REPLACED BOTH ELEMENTS GOT HOT WATER FOR 1 SHOW THEN IT GOT COOLER AND COOLER AND NOW ITS COLD ONLY?

Find a reputable HVAC contractor to do a room by room analysis with heat and cooling loads calculated and units sized and duct requirements and compare to what you have.

The air not being cold is not necessarily an indicator of anything malfunctioning. High efficiency units for instance don't produce cold air.

Since you have had someone look at it, the duct work may be collapsed which restricts air flow or uninsulated which warms up the supply air. Either one is a possibility. Any Cox Cable guys been stompin' around your attic lately? Wouldn't be the first time.

Usually, when the air coming out of the vents is not cold enuf it's because your freon level is low. Probably leaking, but they can usually recharge the freon and it will work for a while. Try another repair company and see if they can recheck the freon level.

We have a high efficiency unit and it produces cold air, so I don't know what previous poster is referring to. Air conditioners are supposed to blow cold air.

Sorry, to tell ya but it is normal if the outdoor temperatures are much below 45 degrees. Below 45 degrees there is little heat outdoors for the heat pump to grab to heat the home so it will run 24/7 and blow cool or cold air. Below 45 the temp of the air coming out the vent will decline and you will get no heat from the heat pump itself as you near freezing.

Your emergency heat or auxiliary heat is electric strip heat. But it only kicks in during normal operation if the temp in the house drops 3 degrees below the setting. (some tstats if can be 5 deg.) Otherwise the heat pump will blow cool or cold air the rest of the time if it is too cold out.

To prevent it from running all the time and blowing cold it is recommended if the temp outside is falling below 45 degrees you should just switch to the emergency heat setting, which shuts the pump outdoors off, and just heat with the electric.

But if there is no heat outside the heat pumps will blow cold. They are the cheapest and most efficient forms of heat but only as long as the outdoor temp is above that 45 deg..

I'm guessing that if you haven't experienced this you live in some place with moderate winter temperatures like in Northern Florida and rarely get very cold winter temps like the freezing you have seen there recently.

It will likely blow much warmer when the outdoor temp rises.

GE Refrigerator external fan - air flow?

This really depends on the manufacturer and their preference on design. First, the fins at the compressor are part of the condensing coil. Most all makers have air pulled into the condenser coil and blown across the compressor. You should be moving room temerature air across the condenser and the air from that is usually then moved across the compressor.

Hope this helps clear it up .

WHEN THE HEATER COMES ON THE FAN STARTS INSTANTLY AND BLOWS COLD

Do you have a heat pump? If so this is normal. You are probably used to a gas furnace. There are heat pumps that do have a delay though. Look on the circuit board in the air handler. There may be a set of pins that say 0-30-60-90 yours may be at 0. Also some digital T-stats offer that function for delay off to get the extra heat or cold from the system. Find out what the model number of the air handler and call the Goodman supplier in your area to see if you have these options.
If you have a gas furnace and it's not delaying the blower there is definately something wrong.

AC doesn't blow cold air

Threr are suppose to be two sounds comming from the window unit. One, the fan sound and the compressor sounds, (this compresses the refrigerants aove room temperatures (around 240*) & send it to the back coils and remove it to room temperatures and send it to the front coils which if enough freon, it will cool to at least 40*. Turn the thermostat all the way up or down while its off and see if you hear a clicking noise which tells you the thermostat is working which that what calls for cool. If it started loosing cools little by little, then you have a leak, and leaked all the freon out! If it stopped cooling all of once, then your compressor is not kicking in.
