Speaker Repair Yamaha Eminence Horn Driver Diaphragm Replacement by Simply... Genuine Eminence Parts New
Be sure you check what impedence you need. If you look at the lable on the driver it will normally say, but if not ask them about your specific cabinet. For instance the 8 ohm single 15" Yamaha Club Series 4 uses a 16 ohm driver in their 8 ohm box.

250W, 8 Ohms speakers on 150W, 6-16 Ohms Amplifier.. What is the effect of this?

If your amp states that it will support a range of 6 - 16 ohms, an 8 Ohm speaker will work fine on it. If the speakers you hook up to it are lower than 6 ohms, it may work until you turn it up, then it will either shut down or burn out the finals. If you hook up a speaker that has a higher than 16 ohm, it will not get very loud, and it shouldn't hurt the amp.

How to fix horn problem in 1996 toyota corolla

HI,
Try to find out first what is the part that cause the malfunction of the horn.
The three major part of the horn is the relay, harness & horn pad, and horn itself.
Check the relay if it is functioning by replacing it with similar type ( if you have the spare or a similar relay in the relay/fuse box in engine compartment ). Let somebody push the pad horn and if you hear a clicking sound on the relay, it means there is a current that activates the relay( no probs from the horn pad and harness ).
Check the horn, just get a wire and directly connect it to the positive pole of the battery and connect it( wire ) to the positive terminal of the horn, it should activate the horn, if not the problem is the horn and you have to replace it.

Hope that helps!

The mid driver is burnt out where can I get a replacment

My background is live audio and was a tour manger and sound engineer for over 22 years
A couple of months ago I bought a pair of 1530's for $450. They were a bit dirty and had spider webs all over.
I cleaned them all up but was not happy with Mackie's open dust cover design on the mid. When I would slightly depress on the cone one could hear scratching. (it would later turn out to be debris, the coils were in good shape)
The mid speaker in part of the horn-mid flare and can not be reconed.
I my hunt to find a replacement I went as far as ordering a RCF recone kit from Legacy Sound Services but they went bankrupt before they could deliver my kit.
After another search I ended up buying two Eminence LA6-CBMR 6.5" speakers as their there specs and outside diameter of the frame seemed to be a good fit. (this was after I had removed one of the cones from it's hi-mid flare and measured the opening)
When the arrived they slide in perfectly leaving about a 1 mm gap. After removing the magnet from my old rear cover I purchased eight #8 x 3" screws.
I gently tightened down the screws and was ready for my test.
I was amazed side by side the eminence was much smoother around 1.5 khz
Note: the Mackie mid is 5.9 ohms and the eminence is 6.9 ohms and is 150w
One issue is that the new speaker sits about a 1/4" farther back than the original.
I don't have a realtime analyzer but over all the Eminence seems to be a great fit.
I did replace the rubber gasket at the base of the mid flare opening, there did not seem to be a noticeable change.
If you like you can contact me at lmcvery@gmail.com and I will send you pictures

2000 Tahoe Horn broken

You can remove the horn relay and use a Ohm meter and check the resistance between the horn relay connector terminal No. 86 (Black Wire) and ground. If the ohms are less then 5 ohms replace the horn relay. There are a lot more tests but as Polarcycle states you can do what he suggested other then I believe you have two horns in this vehicle.

I have a set of peavey scorpion sp5xt's one works fine but if i plug into the other one ,in full range, only the horn works,

Horn and speaker combo cabinets have an electronic component called a "crossover". The horn and speaker both work off different electrical signal frequencies. If you can take off the back, or get inside by pulling the speaker, check for a small circuit board mounted inside the box or on the speaker or horn. Check for a broken wire or loose connection of the crimp connectors.

A common problem with speakers, often the cone, or paper part of the speaker will come un-glued or separated from the magnet "voice coil". This happens when played too loud, when it's commected to the wrong impedance, or if the signal was shorted and "overdriven" (usually sounds like an awful buzz that's really loud).

Always make sure your output impedance matches the impedance of the speaker. Most auto stereos are 4 Ohms. Older home stereos are typically 8 Ohms. Musical PA gear varies between 4, 8, and 16 Ohms. Peavey gear is typicall 4 Ohms, but some older models are different. The Ohm rating is the amount of the resistance in the circuit. If your speaker is 4 Ohms and you plug it into an 8 Ohm circuit, you can destroy the speaker and sometimes the crossover circuit board.

Good Luck.

Peavey impulse 1015 horn cuts in and out

If the horn cuts out after some usage ...then its probably the limiter lamp that is gone .... the limiter lamp is switched into circuit once the " polyswitch " gets hot .... so at first the horn works ...then when the limiter lamp is switched in ...nothing !
its just a standard 12volt car tail light lamp ...let me know if this helps

Cerwin Vega V-35 Horns Drivers Model TMH-1

first you need a multimeter set to OHM , check on the back of the horn , remove the leads and do some reading , it should read 4 , 8 , 16 ohms depending of the brand , if you get no reading its means that need to be replaced , some horns you can detach the back (magnet w/the coil ) so you can replace it without buying the whole unit . good luck
