Forward and reverse will not work is there a belt or anything to fix this

You may be missing the last digit on your model number as there are 4 hits on sears site like yours but with an extra digit on the end as 0, 1, 2, and 3. For this issue, the drive belt # is the same for all 4. Most likely the differences are the engines.
owners manual for 917.288560 here

Page 24 is replacement and routing of the belt. Make sure there isn't debris like a stick or branch stuck in there.
Part number for belt is 130969 which is a 1/2"x92" belt and can be had for anywhere from $8 to $20 on amazon or $31+ shipping from sears.

Need brushes for 111409-1 motor

Remington has ceased production. Parts availability is limited to what is on hand. Probably time to purchase a new pole saw. Purchase the cheapest product on the shelf and in 5 years they will be out of business too. Poulan and McCulloch (electric) have been in business for a very long time, I expect they will continue to provide a quality product with service after the sale for many years to come. HTH

Motor runs but blade does not move. Sounds like gear stripped or maybe clutch slipping.

It sounds like the spocket gear is stripped, the smaller gear drive may be stripped also. You will need to replace these parts. You can order them online at www.masterparts.net. The part should be listed in your owner's manual. If you do not have an owner's manual you can give your model number and I can try to find a copy for you. They also may have a parts break down Master Parts website. I hope this helps you!

Looking for owners manual

I have a manual for the Wizard 5HP tiller. The reverse belt basically makes a figure 8
The belt goes over the motor pulley and over the idler pulley then makes a twist in the middle and around the bottom pulley. This cause it to basically rotate the opposite direction from the rotation of the drive pulley
