Hi Eugene!
Okay, so if there is not beeps of such......
If you can remember the last time you started up your PC or had it running, did you have a power surge?
--
Try taking out the BIOS Clock (Watch battrie)
for a day or so, then it should be drained... Replace it you might hear beep, if you screencomes on make your processor clock is back around it avrg state if not "Load with optimized default" Option on BIOS. Best bet.
Peace.

Dell Inspiron 530 won't send signal to monitor. How can I fix?

Check if the connector on the vid card is damaged. They get yarf'd around alot. I've seen intermittant pins where the solder joints crack from the stress. It could have been damaged a long time ago but the cable and the situation of the box could have been holding it connected. Here's how to check. Turn on the screen and boot up the machine. The screen should show a message and/or a yellow power light. reach down behind the computer and gently/slowly push on the connector (in all directions) while watching the screen. If the light on the screen flickers green or if the screen shows any sign of proper operation then you found the problem. resolder the connector on the card, get a new card or position the cable so that the pressure holds it in an operational position.

One other thing that is common is that the system board by default uses on chip video if present. Plug the screen into the on chip port. After bootup reconfigure the bios to use AGP or PCI by default. Note that if the machine is outfitted with AGP graphics then the setting in the bios will be PCI or AGP. You should select AGP because PCI means on chip video in this context and not a PCI addin.

The on chip video port may be 15 pin VGA while your screen uses a DVI cable. You can use a VGA to DVI adapter to make the connection.

Compaq presario s4020wm I had unplugged something while the computer was on/ running(DUMB) and it sparked. and then there was no video..I tried a different power box and still no video...So I THINK the on...

do the fans all blow? (all 2 or more) does cd drive eject button work>
if not power is gone.
why not say what you unplugged, so the helper can be on same page as you..>?? why hide key facts?
btw when PC is turned off, it is never off. fully.
we must unplug the power cord, and push the power button
to get the standby power bus discharged, its on all the time.
if fact +_5v-stb is always. on, wall plug connected,.
this is the first step in all desktop service, knowing this or things will blow up, for sure. (hot swapping any part but USB)

that card is blown up or the PC mobo is blown up.
my guess is you hot swapped a PCI card, right? and only the VGA card. right?

old compaq
the support page still is here. (link at end here)
no idea at all what card you have in your hand
it has a name and model number
im reading your service manual on line now(so can you)
and this is a very old COMPAQ, desktop

when you open any DT< side cover, we look at all those slots.
to see what's, there, it can be ANYTHING, or even empty.,
if main board has VGA chip
the manual shows, it has as mobo VGA 19pin connector
try that yet, take out the bad PCI card that sparked.
if this fails, the damage can be very serious
best I can tell this PC is 13 years old or older.
2003 dated, i think...
its is so old it has APG video card slot, yah OLD
AGP x4 x 1
so buy one and try it , off fleabay.

some came with S3 Savage4 pro AGP , new, (options)
S3 is out of business now, (merged)

id ditch it and go to goodwill store find a pc with COA sticker W7
and newer, XP stinks totally. here.
the pc has zero value.. in fact they ship these to 3rd world, for free.
so ebay or newegg. (AGP + XP drivers)

Just built a desktop, turned it on and no signal to display

1.) Does your computer spin up?
2.) Check your monitor on another computer to make sure it is working properly.
3.) Take the case off and "re-seat your video card" (if slotted card)
4.) Try another slot
5.) Try another video card

What graphics card it can used for hp d530 cmt

This HP CPU is compatible with VGA Card "AGP". Like Nvidia Geforce FX5200 128MB Bit or Up, try also RADEON AGP VGA Card Compatible.
Only AGP VGA Card is compatible with HPD530.

Good luck!

I've put it to AGP in my BIOS but its still doesn't work

It is possible that the AGP slot is dirty/dusty from non use over time. Use alcohol dripped onto a cotton swab & clean the copper connectors within the AGP slot. Blow is out using canned air. If the back side of you're AGP card has more than one output.
Ex: DVI, VGA or S-Video. Try hooking you're monitor to another output. (You may need an adapter to convert the out going signal). The AGP card would include an adapter to allow VGA to DVI. Here is a pic to help you understand.
http://www.csncables.com/Cables-to-Go-27596-GY1420.html
Also check the AGP card. Some need additional power. If so there will be a power input. It can vary from a small power cord just like a floppy drive or look just like an IDE power connector.

Luck!

Vga display problem

There is one pin/wire on the VGA connector that translates to the color red on your screen. If you aren't seeing any red, I would suspect that there is damage to the integrated VGA connector on the motherboard, or a component failure in the circuit.

These are great desktop boards.

The Video bus on these boards are shared between the integrated (onboard) video card and port and the AGP slot. This means that you can only use one or the other. When you install an AGP card in the slot it overrides the integrated video including your problem.

If you are good with electronics I'd take a look at the board under the scope and look for damage.

I would rist check with intel on the warranty. You may be surprised. I've had several of these replaced via RMA through intel. They are a bit older but still by desktop board of choice.

Ati radeon agp card

Hi Rafael83,

There may be afew things that may be wrong. One, the video card may be bad, two the motherboard may be bad, or three your power supply may not have enough wattage to power your video card. Or it coud be all of the above.

Sincerely,

Agent Xiong
