The problem is in your water height switch (load size) this is a diaphram switch with a hose attached to it. First make sure that there is no problem with the hose itself, if not then the switch needs replacing. The switch is located on the upper unit, and two screws, one on the lower left, and one on the lower right. Good luck.

Our LG WM-2432H front load washer was overfilling. I got the service manual from LG on the web ( http://22.214.171.124/contents/Laundry/WM2432.htm )
and the most useful thing in that manual was a listing of special control codes that can be entered from the front panel, for example to turn on the drain pump.
I thought maybe the sensor switch was broken, but after disassembling the machine I discovered that the 3/16" ID rubber hose between the sensor switch and the bottom of the tub had shaken loose from its supports and through dragging on the back of the tub during spin cycles, had worn down and had a hole in it, allowing air pressure to leak.
After vacuuming up the shredded rubber, I replaced that tubing with a three foot length of 3/16" inside diameter fuel line purchased from a local Lowes store. I used some twist ties to secure it to the back of the washer housing so it would not drag on the drum. The washer now works fine.
You can do this whole repair by removing the back access panel, only four screws. Look for shredded rubber; the hose just slips off of the sensor and the tub connect points at both ends.

gabehart....sounds like belt is slipping. Replace it. The water pump is on a separate smaller motor so is not affected by the agitator/spin motor.

a sink stopper will not damage your unit its to big,,it cant get though your wash basket...check your outlet,,or use another out rated 15 amps or more..

did it start agaitating? if yes then its your water valve.[where the fill hoses attach to washer from house] if no then it has to do with water level switch.in whirlpool/kenmore washers its very common for the water presure tube to come off of the water level switch.up in the timer console area.other brands dont have that happen as much.some times a mouse has chewed in that presure tube .see what you can do with that.check back with us if needing more help. God bless ,tom
