Question about Kenmore 94702 Front Load Stacked Washer / Dryer

Open Question

Kenmore stacked laundry center Model # 94702 overfills with water, water overflows tub onto floor, turn the timer and it goes to spin & pumbs the water out, you can set timer to stop but when you turn the timer it seems to bypass the wash (agitate) cycle. Could it be the fill valve is stuck , or a timer problem?

SOURCE: my washer keep filling with water until the tub overfills

The problem is in your water height switch (load size) this is a diaphram switch with a hose attached to it. First make sure that there is no problem with the hose itself, if not then the switch needs replacing. The switch is located on the upper unit, and two screws, one on the lower left, and one on the lower right. Good luck.

SOURCE: water continues filling and overflows

Our LG WM-2432H front load washer was overfilling. I got the service manual from LG on the web ( )
and the most useful thing in that manual was a listing of special control codes that can be entered from the front panel, for example to turn on the drain pump.

I thought maybe the sensor switch was broken, but after disassembling the machine I discovered that the 3/16" ID rubber hose between the sensor switch and the bottom of the tub had shaken loose from its supports and through dragging on the back of the tub during spin cycles, had worn down and had a hole in it, allowing air pressure to leak.

After vacuuming up the shredded rubber, I replaced that tubing with a three foot length of 3/16" inside diameter fuel line purchased from a local Lowes store. I used some twist ties to secure it to the back of the washer housing so it would not drag on the drum. The washer now works fine.

You can do this whole repair by removing the back access panel, only four screws. Look for shredded rubber; the hose just slips off of the sensor and the tub connect points at both ends.

gabehart....sounds like belt is slipping. Replace it. The water pump is on a separate smaller motor so is not affected by the agitator/spin motor.

SOURCE: washer overfilling tub and not shutting off

did it start agaitating? if yes then its your water valve.[where the fill hoses attach to washer from house] if no then it has to do with water level whirlpool/kenmore washers its very common for the water presure tube to come off of the water level switch.up in the timer console area.other brands dont have that happen as much.some times a mouse has chewed in that presure tube .see what you can do with that.check back with us if needing more help. God bless ,tom

Water won't drain from to change pump.everything else works fine. nothing pluged.

Does water drain when washer goes from wash to rinse or is it just at the end after rinse. It could be a switch on the cycle timer not working if it doesn't pump out at all. If it doesn't pump out at only the end maybe one of the cams on the timer that makes the switch to dump water is loose or broke.

Frigidaire Laundry Center (FGX831CS1) overflowing.

There are a few issues that could cause the overfilling...failed water inlet valve, failed water level pressure switch, hole in pressure system air hose or air hose disconnection to name a few. Need to have professional evaluate, or it could happen again. Call home insurance if there are water damages to file a claim, and they can handle it from there usually.

Water all in laundry room floor

Did the washer overfill or do did it leak the water out from somewhere? Typically, if the washer is overfilling it is caused by a faulty water level switch. This is a diaphragm like device with a small clear plastic tube attached between the switch and the bottom of the washer's outer tub. As the water level rises, pressure increases on the air in the tube and when it reaches a certain point, it activates the switch to turn off the water and signals the timer to agitate. Look for any obstructions in the tube and the switch can be tested for continuity with a multimeter. No continuity means the switch is defective. Hope this helped and best wishes.

When washer fills it does not stop unless done manually

HI, i recommend testing the timer/control device for faults. make sure it is spinning and not shorted. if the timer/control device is in good condition, this will confirm a serious fault in the water valve assembly(inlet). replace this device in this case.

Kenmore 94802 - Goes through all cycles.. Doesn't stop after last spin cycle.

I hate to say it, but it sure sounds like a timer problem. There are contacts inside that move and switch items no matter what setting its in. Its a possibilty that the power contact is stuck closed and when you manually turn it off it breaks contact. The job to replace is really not that hard, remove console (unplug unit first), mark your wires, then just replace. The part though is a touch expensive (131789200 Sears Part Number). Probably would be a little cheaper than buying a new unit I guess. Let me know if you need any further information. Jim
