Question about Panasonic CF18DJAMXKM Notebook

Mouse and Keyboard problems

First the mousepad started giving me problems. It would still move when I touched it, but the cursor would jump around erraticly when I took my finger off the pad, or if I moved it a certain way. Then my keyboard started malfunctioning. Almost all the keys starting with 8, U, J, and M, moving right, to about =, P, ;, and / don't work. I can push them, and they'll put stuff on the screen, but for instance, the M key makes a 0 when pressed.

Well I solved the keyboard problem, but the mouse is still giving me problems. Would I be better off taking the comp to a repair place, or is this something I could verify and fix myself?

Sounds like the electrical connector to these devices is somehow partially disconnected. Must open machine and look at these connectors to verify insertion. Good luck on opening machine...it is quite difficult and try to have a camera handy to snap photos of difficult areas for later reference.

How do you stop the cursor from jumping on an elitebook folio 9470m

go to control panel / mouse to open the mouse properties window. along the top of the window should be several tabs. select the tab for touchpad or maybe advanced properties. this tab allows you to adjust the touch sensitivity of the mousepad, momentum, and other properties. adjusting to make it less sensitive may reduce the tendency of the cursor to jump or move on its own. failing that, go for an external mouse!

Cursor jumping, pages scrolling on own

bad mouse action , no other words need be said just that.
NO OP SYS STATED BY YOU< XP?
if the mouse is a wireless mouse, the battery is dead.
if the 1 mouse is wired it is bad.
if there are 2 mice connected , shut one down 2mice not allowed.

if the mouse pad is enabled then that is 2 mice if usb mouse used.
and not ever good to do that,
disable one of the mice. (easy no? rules)
i disable my LT here, , in control panel, device manager , mouse pad synaptic or what ever it is.
RC right click disable, it , I hate mice pads././/

Cursor on my keypad jumps around

If your cursor moves erratically on the screen (for example, if it jumps around the screen, moves at varying speeds, or selects items on its own), perform the following steps:

1. Clean the surface of the touchpad with a dry, soft cloth to remove grease, sweat, moisture, or other liquids.

2. Adjust the sensitivity of the touch pad:.

a. Click the Start button and click Control Panel.

b. Click Printers and Other Hardware.

c. Click Mouse.

d. When the Mouse Properties window appears, click the Pointer Options tab.

e. Under Select a pointer speed:, click to move the slider bar closer to Slow.

f. Click OK.

g. Check to see if the touch pad still behaves erratically.

3. If the touchpad still caused the cursor to behave erratically, attach an external mouse to your computer and restart your computer. Use the external mouse to see if your cursor still moves erratically.

4. After connecting an external mouse, uninstall the touchpad driver from the Device manager listed under the "mice and other pointing devices" category and restart the Computer.

5. Download the Touchpad driver compatible to the Operating System installed on the Computer from the manufacturer's site and install it after restarting the Computer.

Good luck!!!!!!!!!!

My cursor jumps when i am writting a text

The keyboard is built in a way so that it is easy to accidentally tap the mousepad while you are typing. This will make your cursor jump., if you are using an external mouse, make sure to turn off the mousepad to avoid this issue by holding Fn and pushing the F7 button.
