Thanks for your response.Since my posting I have engaged professional help but it would appear that Wordbiz is simply not compatible with Windows Vista.
I even asked Wordbiz themselves for technical assistance on two occasions but they significantly declined to respond.

    Thanks again for your interest.

Thanks for your response. I had Windows Vista Home Premium already loaded on to Sony Laptop Model VGN-FW21E when I bought it from Comet last December. I had already tried running Wordbiz in Windows XP Service Pack 2 Compatability Mode as I said and have now tried ticking the box under properties/privilege to run it as administrator but to no avail. It just will not open. With Windows Vista I am of course set up to run it as administrator. I had forgotten that.

My latest problem is being unable to view an MRI scan on CD using the inbuilt Phillips Image Viewer. Worked perfectly well on my old computer with Windows XP.

Thanks again for trying to help. Wishing now I'd stuck with Windows XP at least until Windows 7 is launched next month.

Wordbiz 1.8 does not launch when you run it under vista.

Just run the program administrator for this:
1. Right click on the icon WordBiz ISC RO
2. Properties
3. Compatibility tab
4. In the Priviledge level section check the box Run this program as administrator.
5. Click OK and restart your application.

& we'll sit by the qat and have some za!

Java will not run Windows 7 64 bit

It depends on the program you are opening, you didn't say? Some software or games don't work on the latest java updates, or 64bit versions. For instance, POGO, a game will not. Limewire, will not. There are many others. It's the program, older software usually, not always.

Fb will not show the right hand side or the bottom of the game

First, update your java runtime environment software to the latest version for here:

Then update your Adobe flash player software to the latest version.
For Internet Explorer you need this update:

For Firefox, Netscape, Opera and Chrome use this update:

If that doesn't fix it you might have some viruses and malware.

Start your PC and press F8 several times until the boot menu comes up. Then select "Safe Mode with Networking". Now get some or ALL of the FREE programs below.

Download, Install and Run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware:
When Installing choose the non-pro version.

Download, Unzip, Install and Run TDSSKiller:

Download, Install and Run Super Anti-Spyware:

If you have an outdated Anti-virus program then Download, Install and Run Avira Anti-Virus:
Make sure to select ALL of the "threat categories" when you install or configure Avira...

You should be in pretty good shape if you run and install all of these programs.

It keeps saying enable javascript which I did and it still will not install

The first thing to try is to uninstall and reinstall Java.

1. Enter Windows key + R, which will open the Run dialog box.
2. Type APPWIZ.CPL into the dialog box and click OK.
3. Wait for the Programs and Features (Vista and 7) or Add and Remove Program (XP) page to completely load.
4. Scroll down looking for any JAVA installations.
5. Select and remove any and all JAVA installations.
6. Restart computer if necessary.
7. Follow this link to install the latest version of JAVA:
8. Click "Free Java Download" and download Java.
9. Install Java and restart computer if necessary.

Note: If you have difficulty downloading and installing Java, then try and use Internet Explorer to install Java.

Hopefully this fixes your problem. If it doesn't, then please post back.
Good luck and thanks for using FixYa.

Downloaded a patch. May have installed wrong. I try to edit picture album to add picture. All I get is text programing info, but will not add pic.

What patch were you trying to install??

Adding/editing pictures to Facebook uses Java platform. Uninstall ALL Java installations on your computer (look in Add/Remove Programs - on Windows XP or Programs and Features on Vista/7), then download the latest version of Java from here.

Close all browser's instances and install Java. Once installed, open Facebook and try again.

An add-on might causing this problem. In Internet Explorer, go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Programs tab -> manage add-ons. Disable any suspicious add-ons and click OK when done. Restart Internet Explorer then try Facebook again.

Also, try cleaning browser cache (in Internet Explorer, go to Tools -> Internet Options then click Delete under "Browsing history section"). Restart your browser and try again.

Alternatively, I would recommend using Firefox, as a replacement for Internet Explorer! You get get it here

Hope this will help you...
Good luck!

I have a wordbiz scrabble program that I can't open. The cursor just blinks. Any ideas?

According to the website the Wordbiz Scrabble Program also requires that the Wordbiz Scrabble program have the Microsoft Java Program installed as well to display the graphics properly.

There is also a sound update that should be installed as well.

The information is located on this page.

Its the internet scrabble club page.
