I unplugged this computer to move it to another place and it was working fine. When I plugged it back in the on switch does nothing just as if it is not getting electricity. I have changed all cords to another outlet still no on computer. Is there a reset button somewhere?

You might want to change the internal battery, it is the small 3v battery. Most of the time it will solve your issue. Be sure to replace it with the same battery code eg.CR2032. It is the size of a nicle and on the motherboard. Be sure to discannect all power and discharge yourself from any static elec. before touching the motherboard

Maybe your BIOS switched to VGA output, try plugging in another monitor which has VGA input and change settings in BIOS for default output to DVI.

I have a HP G60-235DX, It was working fine yesterday. Today I hit the on button and nothing happens. The indicator by the a/c adapter is on. I changed the on switch, but still nothing.

If your computer is plugged in and charging, unplug it and then press the power button, then plug it back in. If that doesn't work, remove the battery, then pop it back in and do as i said above.

Hope that helps.

I unplugged my computer from the livingroom and moved it to one of the kids bedrooms. After I plugged it back in, the tower doesn't power up. I've switched the power cords with the ones from the monitor...

Look on the back of the tower, up top on the power supply and there may be a reset button or a red switch. Switch it off for a few seconds and them back on. That might work.

Acer desktop PC locked up and now won't turn off or boot up

Hello,

I've seen a similar issue on Acer Veriton 7900. When you unplug the power chord while the machine is still running the BIOS/CMOS gets bugged up. If your PC doesn't have a 3 year warranty you can clear the CMOS/BIOS. To do this, note the following...

1.) Unplug the power cord

2.) Remove the CMOS battery from the unit

[OPTIONAL] move the jumper on the mainboard to the 'clear position' It should be indicated on your mainboard. After 30 seconds move jumper back on original position

3.) Wait for 30 seconds

4.) Place CMOS battery back into its position

5.) Reconnect the power cord and attempt to power on the unit.

I had this happen to my emachines T1842 about a year ago. I replaced the power supply and it worked fine. It was about 25 bucks but fixed my problem. Make sure the red switch on the back hasnt been messed with. it should be on 115. If you have moved it, it may have blown a fuse inside the power supply.

NO POWER AT ALL!

Does the power supply have its own power switch?

It is located next to where the power wire plugs into the back of the PC.
