If the line is black that means that the pixels are dead...
you can't solve this problem... (quite)
you can just open the gameboy and change the LCD screen, or you have to buy a new gba...
if the line really annoys you I think you should buy a new one...
hope I helped

I bought an LCD Samsung 3 years ago and about a year ago a thick black line appeared in the middle of the screen. Can this be fixed at home?

check if the lines appear on different inputs or source like hdmi,av,pc, if it happens on a different source then theres a problem with the lcd screen it needs to be fix.

I downloaded the visualboy emulator for gbc and gba but i cannot get gba games to work. When i load them it reads ''Loaded Battery'' then the screen goes and stays white. What do i need to do to get it to...

Ok, VBA's are fun, but can be weird sometimes. i suggest that you have the icon of the VBA and .gba files close. drag the .gba onto the icon, and that shouldn't happen.

this means the input in the lcd is messed up, the way television screens work, and I have been told LCD's is first a wire tells the screen to start printing, lists all of the pixels on that line, then start the next line, if the input is wrong then the lcd could be flipped,

The other awnswer is not so simple, there may or may not be a chip in the gba that is called a flip flop, this reverses 1s to 0s and 0s to 1s, this could potentially reverse the input.

umm try to get the newest firmware. Once you do this get your gba bios and trash them since they seem to be the start of the problem. For the all the updates you need go to this site and sign up once you do this you can search the downloadable content.

Here you will also find many useful info on what STUFF you can put on your psp. You will now what I mean once you sign in and go into the Downloadable content.

Check that the pc to monitor vga lead is not loose at both ends, check your graphics drivers are upto date, although it could well be a monitor fault and replacment required, as don't think they are worth reparing these days

Will not play SP games

Did you clean the contacts on the game as well as the system? You may also try setting the GBA back to it's factory settings by turning it on and holding down L,R,A,B and Start
