Question about Swintec 7040 Typewriter

Typewriter Print Wheel

Hi, I have a Swintec 7000 that I just acquired & the print wheel is not up where it should be. I don't have a manual. Is there something to push or move to get it where it should be?Thank you

Depending on which printer you have there should be a red or black lever beside the print solonoid, push to the rear and the P/W should lock into position.

Remove the ribbon, then remove the daisywheel, reinsert daisywheel, replace ribbon and it should work.

To print in a different language, your best option is to get a printwheel that contains your preferred languages special characters. You can see a list of them here:

Replacing printwheel in swintec


Remove the ribbon, pull back on the black lever on the R. edge of the print wheel.

First try a little WD40 on the shaft thatb the carrier slides on and look for debris in the carrier movement area,

How do I change the code associated with the printwheel on a swintec 4040. I changed the wheel but now the keys are not synced with the new wheel.


make sure the slide switches are all in the proper settings, turn the machine off then back on, the print should be ok

try typing on different paper also try typing on the heavy setting
