The playstation will not connect with the television

You should select the TV input to AV, after connecting the play station with AV cable in between TV and Playstation. Electro help

Connect the HDMI cable to the playstation 3 and LG TV.
Press the input button on your LG remote until you see the new HDMI connection.
If there is no picture, Hold the power button on your PS3 until you see lights flahing on the console, this will reset the playstation to default., as it may be set for a RCA signal, thus no pictue through HDMI.

Adjust the audio output on your playstation and the television depending upon how you're connecting it to the television for picture and sound.

For an hdmi cable between the television and the PS3 only then adjust the audio ouput to hdmi on the PS3.
You do not need to connect anything else between the television and the PS3 besides an hdmi cable.

If you are using the colored plug type component or composite cables then it is av.

If you are connecting with a fiber optic cable to a surround sound system then it is set to optical.

Depending on what television you are using you would also have to change the Playstation to 48khz/96khz

Try resetting the playstation and a hot swap. Turn off the tv and the playstation and remove the hdmi cable from the television. You should see a red standby light on the playstation. Press and hold down the power button until you hear two beeps. Now plug the hdmi cable back in. Turn the television on. Turn the playstation on. Hope this works.

Connect the cables to the ports on the back of the PlayStation console marked "audio out" and "video out." Make sure to match the same-coloucoloured plugs on the cables and the ports - yellow to yellow, red to red, white to white.

Connect the other ends of the audio/video cables to the ports on the back of the television or VCR marked "audio/video input.

Connect the AC power cord to the PlayStation game console and plug it into a wall socket for power.

Turn on the television, VCR (if included in the connection) and PlayStation console.

Press a button on the remote control to access the audio/video inputs for your television or VCR. The button will be labeled "video," "aux," "auxiliary," "tuner" or "line TV/video." I would suggest you follow these procedures, hook up your PlayStation 3 to a television. You must decide whether your TV supports high definitions (HD) resolution or not. For HD resolution, you must use a HDMI cable or a component video cable. These cables also support standard definition (SD) resolution. If you only have an SD television, you can use an S-video cable or an AV cable. These two can't support HD resolution.

Connect the PlayStation 3 to any audio equipment such as a A/V receiver or home entertainment system. Connect using a digital audio cable or, alternatively, run an HDMI cable to your A/V receiver then another HDMI cable to the television set.

Plug in the Ethernet cable, then connect the other end to a 10Base T jack from your home network. This connects you to the Internet and the world of online gaming.

Attach the AC power cord to the PlayStation 3, and then plug it into a surge protected wall outlet. Don't plug in the power cord until all other connections have been made as a chance of shock exists.

Perform the initial set up of the system. Turn on the power of the TV and game console, and follow the on-screen prompts. The pre-installed software guides you through the set up process.

ok now goto menue seting and slect auto program with your play station runing the tv set should pick up the signinal.

Change the Video input on the tv. if that doesn't work check your connections.

It is usually the cable. Fiddle with the cable where it connects to the playstation. Disconnect and reconnect to playstation.

purchase an AV Scart Hub (a switching box/scart box),and connect all of your devices to your tv directly.
