If it doesn't light, the LED flashes and the display shows an error code 9 which suggests a problem with the gas. The gas has been checked and the pressure is fine (I've also tried in on a different gas bottle).

I don't have a Thetford but my Dometic used to do that also. I went to the hardward store and bought velcro stick ons and that has worked great from me, even on some of the rough roads.
simple answer. Little resetable fuse on power board, F5 as i remember. It causes the display board to go insane as it doesn't provide enough power to the board. Solder a 2amp one across it. I nicked one from an old computer motherboard USB fuse(usually mounted next to each usb socket). SORTED! was an issue with 2007/8 fridges, especially if you had solar panels fitted tgo your caravan!!!! :)
un plug the heating element from the circuit board and ohm it out. also check fuse on board. but sounds like the heating element has gone out. if when you ohm it its on 0 its bad
