I have an EasyShare C743. It just stopped working - I put in new batteries but nothing happens when I switch the camera on. What else should I be checking?

Your fix could be as simple as cleaning the camera's battery contacts, or it could be something more serious and expensive. First try removing the batteries and cleaning the camera contacts with a small metal brush, steel wool, or fine sandpaper. If that doesn't fix the problem, check the Kodak Help Center by clicking on the link below. It uses a simple Q&A format to diagnose problems and propose solutions.

If u put the batteries in wrong and the camera will not work, then how do u fix it

The obvious answer is put them in the correct way. The problem may be that by inserting them incorrectly they may over heat and be damaged or damage your camera. Put a new set in the correct way round and if that doesn't work you may need a repair job

Are you using the AA alkaline battery? If yes try to reverse the orientation of the battery instead of positive negative make it negative positive

Now if your using new rechargeable make sure thats the AA Ni-MH this Ni-MH is highly recommended for your camera C743

My camera will not turn on

I have the same camera. And it happens sometimes. Make sure you put batteries for digital cameras and not alkaline batteries, those are not powerful enough. Make sure that the polarity is good. I don't see what else wouldn't work.

clean the connectors internally to which the battery connects.if they r dirty this can happen.or if that connectors get loose or little bit bent they cannot connect the battery properly and this happens.

C743 digital

A Kodak tech told me to use only rechargeable batteries as regular dry cells do not have enough power and will go dead at the most inconvient time.

Kodak C743 Battery Discharging When Switched Off

I would suggest, if under warranty, to take it back to the store or contack kodak for a replacement. Otherwise, start shopping for a new one. There are a ton of great digicameras available for the same if not cheaper than this one.

Plz help

remove the SD Card and the batteries. Wait for half an hour and then insert two new batteries. Do not put the SD card in as yet. (Waiting for half an hour or more allows the camera to reset itself).

Now try switching on and good luck.
