Repeated paper jam for Brother MFC-J475DW

The sensors that report paper jams often get little pieces of paper stuck inside tripping the sensor when jammed sheet gets pulled out. Powering off and restarting will not help this. You'll need to do a little bit of disassembly looking for loose bits of ripped paper. Maybe use canned compressed air to blow it out first.

How to repair paper jams

<span>Instructions</span> <ol> <li> Turn off the printer. As the printer shuts down, it will automatically attempt to remove any paper that is jammed.<br /> </li> <li> Pull any paper that is visibly sticking out of the printer. This can help to remove it if the paper is loose enough.<br /> </li> <li> Open the printer as you would to change the ink cartridges. How to Fix a Paper Jam in a Copy Machine

It seems inevitable that the copy machine will have a paper jam. You need the copies immediately, so how do you fix the jam? Luckily, ingenuity and a manual, can help you fix the problem yourself. Fixing a paper jam, can elevate you to hero status amongst your co-workers.

  1. Discover the location of the jam. Carefully open the cover of the copy machine and the paper tray to see exactly where the paper is jammed.
  2. Step 2 Turn off the copy machine before pulling out the paper.
  3. Step 3 Pull the page out, the opposite way it is fed into the copier. Pull the jammed sheet out gently. If you tug too hard, the paper may rip.
  4. Step 4 Check for any paper fragments and clean up any torn pieces.
  5. Step 5 Check the roller where the jam occurred to be sure none of the copier parts are loose or broken. The roller should be smooth all the way across with no possible snags.
  6. Step 6 Replace the cover and paper tray and turn the machine back on.
  7. Step 7 Press the button to cancel the paper jam message. This button will vary among copy machines. The display will tell you which button to push.

My printer has a paper jam, how do I fix it?

See if you can pull out the paper that is stuck carefully without ripping it. You may have a paper jam door in the back that will open up that will also help you get out jams.

I have a hp deskjet 3940 colour printer, there is paper jam error,so what i could do to solve the problem

Follow these steps :
1.1
Take out any paper that is not jammed. Remove the loose paper from the in and out paper trays to prevent any more paper from being pulled into the jam.
2.2
Open the cover of your HP laser printer. This will give you access to the inner machinery of the printer and should unveil the jammed paper. If you do not see jammed paper, you may have another type of malfunction.
3.3
Gently pull on the jammed paper. In many cases, it will come out easily.
4.4
Move the rotors on the inside of the printer by pressing the flashing button on the housing of the printer. This may help to loosen any jammed paper.
5.5
If the jam persists, unplug your HP printer. You'll be able to pull more firmly on the paper with the power turned off. Be careful not to rip the paper.
6.6
Attempt printing again. Refill the trays with paper and plug your printer back in to test its functionality.

Printer is ripping paper, and getting jammed

Most likely you have something on the roller or jamming it. I have disassembled printers to find paper, paper clips, and other things helping to jam the paper roller. Try to clear the obstruction by checking around the roller anyway you can. As I said, sometimes you have to take the printer apart to get to the problem. Sometimes it's a bad gear, so it can get a bit tricky. It's your call- you might try to unjam it, and if that fails, replace it- they're pretty reasonable these days, anyway. Good luck!

Paper jam light on continually--will not print, but cannot find any paper jam

you or a tech is going to have to take the machine apart and find the jam... its wedged in tight.... either somewhere around where the paper feeds from the trays into the machine... or where the fuser is in the back... you will need a flashlight and a flat flexible metal ruler and a spring hook... if you are comfortable doing this... then go ahead if not... find someone who is mechanically enclined and ask them to do it for you... if you do it wrong you will break something...

I keep getting a paper jam every time I try to print photos? How do you get the paper out of the back without ripping?

Id there trap door on the back with a tab on it. If it does opuch the tab in and pull the door open and out this is th best way to remove jams. If not there may be a way in the fron f the printer to pull it out pull it jentally so it will not rip and mak it harder to get the remaning piceses out.

Paper Jam HP Color LaserJet 2840

Pull out the drum cartridge by it's green handle then
look for your paper at the timing roll section-there is a plate you can lift or release to access jams.

other than that the fuser unit on the rear of the mfc can be pulled out by moving two levers.
