Check to see if your power cable is bad. if it went bad your computer would go to hibernate to save energy, then shut down all together. see if when you plug in your power cable if your computer shows that its charging. if it does maybe its a bad battery.

Acer Aspire One in permanent hibernate ''coma''

There have been times when Ctrl + Alt + Delete has brought the desktop back up. Usually, hibernation is disrupted by simply pushing the power button once, the computer will eventually come out of hibernation. Most clients I have done work for have me take hibernation off completetly, this is done in the control pnel under power options. There is a tab specific for hibernation.

How do you get out of hibernation?

If pressing the power button only turn on a green light under the power button, your computer is on. If your screen is black, then you have a video problem that Acer knows about. Contact them with all the info about you computer ready and they will help you solve the problem.

Hibernation Option deleted.

Check your power plan in use and look and see if it's set for Hybrid Sleep. If so, that may be keeping you from seeing the Hibernation option.

Laptops have a ACPI power management piece of hardware on the motherboard. Sounds like this driver is corrupt or missing. Go to Acers website and look for drivers and find the one that says ACPI or even chipset drivers may have it.

Acer LCD Monitor

It is with your system. You might have hibernation enabled and many advanced video cards cannot recover from a bios or control panel timed hibernate. Start by using the Power Options from the control panel. Select "Always On" for everything and select the Hibernate tab to be sure that the Hibernate check box is not selected. Make sure you APPLY the settings. If the problem goes away, you can tweak the settings to get the power savings features you want without losing your system..
