Question about Nokia N73 Cellular Phone

1 Answer

Nokia N81 Phone memory problems.

My phone keeps saying that the phone memory is full, please delete some data. It is showing that there is 34kB of messages in the phone when i have none. Restoring Factory settings do no work. In addition i cannot delete things for places such as contacts as it keeps saying that the phone do not have enough memory to carry out that action.

To start, please note 34KB isn't much space at all. That phone has a minimum of 12 megabytes and a maximum of 8 gigabtyes depending on when you got your phone.

But just for size comparison, 34 kilobytes = 0.033203125 megabytes so you have plenty of space, those kilobytes mean nothing.

I don't personally own a Nokia phone, but from what I hear, all of their phones have software on them called Lifeblog, it stores all of your photos taken, and all of the calls you have made on your phone and arranges them in a time line, this ends up taking up a lot of space and is a cause for many of the memory related problems.

Possible Solutions:
Backup anything you want to keep with Nokia PC Suite
Reset your phone to factory default by either typing *#7370#
Holding down 3 * green whilst switching it on.

Be wary when restoring any backup you have, being this will restore anything that your Lifeblog contains, reverting the problem.

And a final solution
Download "Y" browser here
Install it on your phone via your Nokia PC Suite.
Launch the YBrowser application (probably from new folder called
Locate the C: drive and open it:
Locate the Data folder:
Locate the Lifeblog folder:
Select Options, File and then Delete
Once the folder is deleted launch Lifeblog and select Update Timeline.

Hope one if not all of these helped =)

yeah, chances are you will have to use one of the recovery options I mentioned in the first post. Its going to be a nuisance to re-add all your contacts, but the only other way is Y browser, which you need free space to use.

In addition to that, please note deleting things isn't helping because Lifeblog is recording that it was deleted and keeping a backup copy. Two additional solutions I will suggest would be

    A) Going to a Nokia Retailer and asking for them to fix it. They might ask for payment, but chances are they will do it for free. I have a verizon phone and services are covered under our contract, unless it is my fault that the phone breaks - being that Lifeblog is theirs, its their fault your going in for service.

    B) If you have a micro SD card sitting around with a maximum size of 8GB you can use that either temporaily or for the lifetime of that phone and it should keep you set for a while, most cameras use SD cards or micro SD cards now adays so just look in your camera and see if it has one, your computer might even be able to read it then you could pput Y Browser on that and delete Lifeblog through that method. Hope either of these helped =)

How to see items from phone memory of nokia n81. it always shows phone memory full but cant delete anything or cant see d phone memory

You need to connect the phone to the pc using the datacable. You need to have installed the nokia pc suite installed on the computer. so when you connect the phone, it will be recognized by the pc and when you open the My Computer window, you will see a nokia phone browser folder. open it, you will see two drives. one will be your phone memory and the other you memory card.

Thank you.

My Nokia N73 phone keeps saying 'memory full delete data' when i try to send txt - but there is no data to delete, txts , images etc are empty. And memory details say there's plenty of memory. What's...

when it says memory full then see that all messages received via bluetooth are cleared from memory. And find out and deleate any unwanted applications in your phone memory. And if this dosenot solves your probs then switch off your phone and turn on at least after 5 minutes.
