Re: The System Set up Menu does not display to my...

Hi there,

The Denon AVR-2801 receiver outputs the "on-screen" menu and interface with priority to the S-VIDEO output of the unit.

If you have any S-VIDEO cables plugged in, you will need to navigate to the appropriate S-VIDEO input on your television/monitor to be able to see the on-screen menus.

If you need additional help, please feel free to leave a message here and here is a link to the manual that explains the menu and on-screen functions in more depth. Especially see the "notes" section on page 14. I have had several of these Denon amps and the only input I could get the "on-screen" menu was the S-VIDEO MONITOR input.

Good luck!

How to connect Denon avr 1804 connecting to roku hd

I connected by Roku to a Denon 1804 Receiver this way:- I plugged the cable that came with the Roku into VCR2 input jack of the Denon. (I used VCR2 because it was available).- Using the remote from the Denon, I made sure the slide switch was on "Audio." (See page 20 of Denon Manual).- I pressed pressed the System Setup button- *System Setup appears in display of Denon- Using the cursor buttons I scrolled to menu Digital in Assignment- I set Menu item 16 Coaxial to VCR2 since that was the input jack I used for the Roku. - After making the selection press the CH Select Enter button to save- To exit the System Setup press the System Setup button again- When using the Roku, select the input source as VCR2 (or whatever jack you used). You should now have sound through the Denon. The most important step is to read the Denon manual starting on page 20

The sound is really low if i press the aux tape cd phono or vcr the sound is there but really low

Evaluate your current receiver. Take a look at the back-panel connections to make sure you don't have a phono input. In most cases, the phono input will be clearly marked. If the connections are not marked, look for a set of RCA-style inputs with a grounding screw next to them; this is a phono input. If there isn't a phono input on your receiver, see if you have an open set of RCA inputs. If they are all occupied by other equipment, you can disconnect one piece of equipment, buy an A/V switcher or get a new receiver--preferably one with a phono input.
2 Purchase a phono preamp. The voltage output of a turntable is much lower than those of other peripheral devices, including CD players, tape decks and game systems. Although the inputs look the same, connecting a turntable to a standard RCA audio input will result in very faint sound output, if you hear anything at all. The output of your turntable must be amplified to a level of about 150 millivolts (mVs) before it reaches the receiver, so a turntable "pre-amplifier" or phono preamp is necessary.
3. Purchase patch cables. You'll need a set to run from the preamp to your receiver. Measure how long your cables need to be, and purchase accordingly. Resist the temptation to "go cheap," because better-quality cables will provide better sound.
4. Connect the preamp into the system. First plug the preamp into an AC power outlet. Most models have a small AC-to-DC adapter built into the plug. Then connect the cables from the turntable to the preamp, and connect your new patch cables from the preamp to the receiver.
5. Adjust the gain of the phono preamp. Most models have a gain control for fine-tuning. Follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer and adjust your system accordingly.

How to access denon avr-3300 system setup

First make sure that your remote control is set to "Amp" as it can control many different devices.

Then make sure that you have connected the Monitor Out socket on the receiver to your TV.

Next make sure your TV is set to show the picture from the input you connected to the Denon monitor out.

Now press set-up button on the remote and the System Setup menu should appear on your TV.

If this helps then please rate my answer,

Many thanks,

No image/sound when sony ps3 is connected to onkyo 875

I've had problems with my Onkyo receiver too.

Firstly i suggest going into the Onkyo setup menu. Make sure that in "source settings" i think that's the menu option) that the input e.g. dvd is set to receive HDMI. then go into the settings for DVD and ensure that resolution is set to auto, then go into the monitor out settings (option 1 on main seyup menu) and make sure that main monitor out is set to HDMI and auto resolution.

hope this helps,

The Yamaha RX-V463 AV does not playsound from the blue ray player

"I am also having difficulties in try to display the yamaha set up menu on the tv."
According to the manual the display menu for TV will not work with HDMI hook up.
I also have a Panasonic HD TV and can't get TV sound through my Yamaha AVR on "TV Sound" mode.  Trying to use HDMI cable for this also.  Do I need a digital optical cable or do I not have something set right?

Cant bring up the onscreen menu on my tv

Greetings ! Hopefully you followed the instructions on page 18 - 20 of the Yamaha manual... then set the Flat screen or monitor to one of the two inputs that you view movies or dvd's on . I would try it first without HDMI cables as even the book states some monitors do not accept or see hdmi. try it with the dvd cables.
You have to follow the book carefully as I have the same system . Its a complicated system and I was informed , "a lot of people do not know how to set the system up and end up returning a perfect system..." from the Geek squad from Best Buy. Just follow carefully the manual.

Cant Access System Setup on Denon AVR-588

Are you connected with video cables to a tv or "monitor" this is more than likely were the setup is visible for speaker configuration, input assignment etc, most denon receivers work this way so I would suspect you need to re-check the video connection until a set-up picture appears.

Vocals missing while playing with 2 speakers

Go to the amp "Basic Setup" and alter basic setup according to
- the size of the room (details in the manual)
- alter the no. of channels e.g. if you have only 2 front speakers, change the channels to 2.1 (.1 for the subwoof)
- Once the setup is changed, the amp pumps in sound according to the set up

All the best
