Hi there,

The Denon AVR-2801 receiver outputs the "on-screen" menu and interface with priority to the S-VIDEO output of the unit.

If you have any S-VIDEO cables plugged in, you will need to navigate to the appropriate S-VIDEO input on your television/monitor to be able to see the on-screen menus.

If you need additional help, please feel free to leave a message here and here is a link to the manual that explains the menu and on-screen functions in more depth. Especially see the "notes" section on page 14. I have had several of these Denon amps and the only input I could get the "on-screen" menu was the S-VIDEO MONITOR input.

So, you need to have the S-Video cable plugged into the port that says "Monitor" on the Denon, to the input on your television or display device.

After doing this, you will need to navigate to the appropriate input on your television or display device, this is usually done using the "TV/Video" button to "scroll" through the entries until you reach the right one, on most televisions these will be called "Video-1", Video-2" or may have labels like "VCR", "DVD", etc...

This may not be the input that you normally watch on, for instance if your inputs are HDMI, Component (Red,Green, and Blue conenctors), or composite (one yellow connector) the S-Video input will be a different one than you usually watch on.

Once you have connected the cable to the "MONITOR" port, and to your tv, and selected the appropriate input, you should be able to hit the "on screen" button and access the menu.

Let me know if this works for you and we can go from there!

HELP! bought a BX2450 Samsung monitor and it`s not showing full resolution, i need a driver for my macbook pro 13` (mid 2010) anyone????

I have a very strong suspicion that you are connecting your Macbook Pro to the VGA input on the monitor instead of the HDMI.

Your Macbook Pro uses the Mini Displayport connection type. Are you using a Mini Displayport to HDMI adapter? If not, purchase one and that will resolve your issue.

If you are already using a Mini Displayport to HDMI adapter, make sure your resolution is set to the maximum (1920x1080 according to Samsung's website) in Apple Menu > System Preferences > Displays > Display.

If available, select the 'Best for Display' option which should automatically set the maximum resolution for the display. If not, select 'Scaled' and choose 1920x1080.

Power failure, command display (no bootable cd)

It seems that your first boot was on cd or dvd, or may be your hard drive did not detect, to check both of them go to BIOS set up by pressing F2 or Delete on your keyboard to enter set up. When you are in set up mode go to Boot menu (if you can not see boot menu go to advance). In a boot menu select HDD as a first boot and Cd or DVD as a second boot, if you can not find your HDD it means that your HDD did not detect, and you need to replace it with a new one.
Hope it gives you a solution

No picture on screen but power supply is OK

Here is a couple of suggestions for this monitor. 1st check your connection to the computer.
make sure the VGA/HDMI/DVI is properly connected. 2nd check to see if the monitor is setup
to use the right source. Some monitors do this automatically others may need to be manually set.
either look for a button to do this or bring up the monitors menu by hitting the menu button. If the monitors menu button does'nt bring up a menu when the computer is off then the monitor is probably bad.

If the monitor works until the OS boots then goes black. The video card in your computer is set up
improperly with the monitor . In Windows hit F8 as the OS boots this will cause the computer to boot in safe mode. Once in safe mode right click on the desktop then go under properties then settings and change the display option to the correct monitor. You can also go to the device manager in my computer under system information, hardware, device manager and change the monitor here also.

Can't get the PC to display on a TV through the RS-232 interface.

You can not connect a monitor to an RS-232. If your video card does not have a monitor output, you cannot connect a tv monitor to your computer... and the fact that it only shows the original monitor on the drop down menu tells me you can't add a TV to your system

Out of frequency set resolution or see monitor

If you are getting a splash screen (COMPAQ) then video goes black, you can try this. Boot system in Enable VGA mode from the F8 menu and see if you get to the desktop. If you do, you can then go to display properties and adjust the resolution to the Optimal for the monitor.
If you do not get a splash screen, check you cable connections and ensure the Video cable is properly seated and no bent pins. If issue is occurring after the system was moved, also ensure that the correct video adapter connection is being used on the tower, as there may be 2

Can't see the system menu on my bose v30.

System menu will show on your TV screen if you have connected them accordingly/correctly. also, you may see a system menu summary displayed on your Media center display but this does not provide extensive control and adjustment of your system.

Why are my pictures jagged when I view them on my computer?

Your monitor may not be optimized for viewing images. For the best on-screen viewing, set your monitor display as follows: For computers running the Windows operating system: Select Start > Settings > Control Panel > Display. In the Display Properties window, select the Settings tab. From the Color Quality drop-down menu, select the highest setting your monitor will allow (usually 24 or 32 bit). Drag the Screen area slider to either 800 by 600 or 1024 by 768. Click Apply, and then OK. For computers running the Macintosh operating system: Access the Monitor Control Panel. Set the color to Millions of Colors.
