I recommend using the free Microsoft Intellipoint 6.1 software. I have recommended it many times, and it has a ratio of 100% so far, in curing this problem.

Here is the download page for using Windows XP and Windows Vista,

My HP wireless mouse works but jumps around to much. I have adjusted the speed, checked the batteries,(new), reinstalled the software but it still jumps around.

Try to use the mouse on a different computer and see if it does the same thing. If it is working similarly on other computer also that means the mouse is defective you have a reason to change the mouse. If it works fine on another computer, Try to use it on this computer in safe mode and see if it does the same thing. As a fix try to restore your computer to an earlier time when computer was working fine with this mouse.

If you need any further assistance feel free to revert .

I have vista on my laptop working great but I now have a weird problem my start screen the one that pops up when you hit the start button pops on when i move the mouse and of again when i move the mou

Unfortunately the wireless mouse on both computers are on the same wireless frequency. Unless you can change the wireless frequency on one of the wireless mouse and the receiver on that corresponding computer then you need to use an USB or PS2 mouse on one of the computers.

My problem is similar

Did solve the problem, the cause was a very silly one! The 'receiver' for the mouse signal had got moved around the back of the computer tower when I was changing internet provider. The signal was obviously being partly blocked!

Mouse moves, click and drag by itself

That sounds a lot like someone has remote access to your computer. Try changing your Firewall settings or try to get a different IP address. Careful messing around with the IP though, it's easy to create a problem when doing that.

I get the same thing from a optical with cord.

Change the pointer speed. Look in Start > Control Panel > Mouse > Pointer Options.

Logitech mouse doesn't respond to my clicks

Even though it does not make sense, if you are using a wireless keyboard that is part of a combo pack (mouse included) sometimes (some brands) you have to plug in all cords on the keyboard/mouse receiver.
