How to delete all my files and restore my acer 5336 aspire

Restoring from the Acer Aspire System Recovery partition is easy Most Aspires will have a second partition that can be used to restore if you do not have CD It is recommended that you make those CD when you first buy the laptop If you don t you run the risk of not being able to install Windows again if that second partition fails Restoring From The Acer Aspire System Recovery Partition Keep in mind that running the recovery will restore the computer to the way it was when you first brought it home Anything you added will be lost so make sure you have program disks passwords favorite websites photos, documents and anything else you need backed up before proceeding with the recovery of your Acer Aspire.Hard Disk Recovery should be enabled by default If it is not you may need to go into your system s BIOS by hitting F2 at boot and enable it under the Advanced tab Once Hard Disk Recovery is enabled, restart the system and hit ALT F10 This will begin restoring from the Aspire system recovery partition. You will be prompted to type six zeros as a security step Type 000000 to proceed You will then see a screen to select your Operating System. Do this and hit enter and the recovery process will begin You Cannot Use The Acer Aspire System Recovery Partition The process for restoring from the Acer Aspire System Recovery partition is similar with all major brand names The most important thing to remember is to always have backups of your data and take a few minutes to burn recovery DVDs using Acer s built in utility. Creating these backup DVD is vital If the hard drive fails you will not be able to perform a recovery from the Acer Aspire system recovery partition Create the media and store it in a safe place along with the rest of your software and computer documentation

As you can see from the figure, recovery partition can be seen in the Disk Management but it can't be accessed. unless you give or assign a lettter to that partition using Diskpart and run as an admin. you have to clone the original hard drive from your Laptop to have a recovery menu. you can create your own recovery.

Hello my name is Michael. I would appreciate some help i have an acer aspire 5920 ad would like to reformat it however when i start the computer in any mode including safe mode it says start up repair...

Hi Michael,
Its possible to reformat your hard drive by using a DOS boot floppy disk or CD. You can create this disk on another pc then boot your pc from this disk. It will boot your pc to a DOS prompt, usually "C:>" from there you can create partitions, delete partitions and format the hard drive. The command for creating partitions is FDISK.exe. Make sure your boot disk has the FDISK.exe command on it.
Let me know if you require any further assistance regarding this.
Best wishes,

Acer aspire 5920-6864 wont boot up

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, try:
  • "Press F2 to Enter System Configuration Utility";
  • determine if the hard disk could be detected by the CMOS/BIOS;
  • if yes, possibly corrupt partition would need re-partition/re-format and re-installation of Vista;
  • if no, possible faulty hard drive and would require replacement.
Pls post back result(s). Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.
