Re: Just bought a power devil fairway 1600 with no manual...
Did you buy it second hand? Looks kind of screwed-up. Sorry, no user's manual available on line. Maybe contacting them? http://www.cylex-uk.co.uk/reviews/viewcompanywebsite.aspx?firmaName=power-devil&companyId=13001676

This generally happens if the hose system is clogged. No suction so the power head brush just kicks out the dirt and debris you're trying to pick up, and loose stuff that is currently in the hose system. If it has been doing this for quite a while, or has been used with blockage, the motor has to work harder and will eventually burn out, if there is no overheat shut of switch in the cleaner.
Check all parts of the hose system, from the power head to the tank. Clear all clogs. That should take care of the problem.
Another possibility is that the fan blades are broken or worn down. This would result in no suction even though the motor is running.
I would check the bottom of the unit to see if there is any blockage. I don't know if this unit has a switch that you set to switch from hose to floor. If so I would set it to floor and see if there is any suction in the hose, indicating a switching problem. If there is no suction in the hose, I would still check the bottom of the unit and disassemble it as much as you feel comfortable to see if you can see any blockage. Good luck!
yes your intake hose is clogged thats the clear hose you can see it on the bottom from the back.disconnect the upper hose from your intake hose and try to push a coat hanger through with the end of the coat hangers end bent till its rounded so you don't puncture the intake hose
