my hunch is that the my files is located on the Memory card and the memory card is faulty try removing your memory card and accessing your 'My Files' if this works then you may have to replace your memory card

There is either a virus on the phone, or you have too many large files on the phone. This 2 might cause the phone to operate on a very slow mode or might be freezing.
When receiving or downloading a file, there might have been a virus on the file, and that can corrupt other files on the phone, including its firmware.
First of all, remove the battery and insert it back in, if it does the same, then try to flash the phone with the appropriate software. Remove the memory card and try to scard it with a computer or laptop using a memory card reader, then you check for the files if there are any viruses.
Also ensure you do not have too many files on the phone and the memory card in order for the phone to work at a high speed.
Unfortunately it will then block you when you try downloading on your phone. So when it appears click options then 'start' to start any download. If you still get an error message as 'Invalid descriptor', then you should install 'LG PC Suite' on your PC (Url: http://www.software112.com/products/lg-pc-suite+download.html), connect PC and phone through USB or bluetooth, then download the file in .jar format on your PC, then upload it to your phone through PC suite under 'Manage files'. You can then install the jar file directly when you select it in 'Your Stuff' on your LG Viewty.
OK, there can just be a couple of reasons why your Viewty is actually acting like this and this is the biggest one: You have to much junk on your memory card and that's why your phone freezes up when you want to go to your documents. Known issue to me that when you have memory card problems, the homescreen wallpapper gets removed, thats when the SD card is not being detected or it has some corrupted files that are affecting your phone when you try to access them and makes your phone shutt off... Big Advise and this will defenetly get rid of your problem: Clean your Memory Card, also and why not clean your internet History, Cookies and Cache. Good Luck, and please treat your Viewty nice, this phone is awesome and deserves better care.
Hmmm. Yes your 2GBmemory card is more than enough to do the job, but.. your phone is freezing. Well, just how many pictures and video files do you already have saved on that memory, remember the more files you store, the slower the phone is going to respond....My recomendation is to remove the old files, transfer to your computer if you dont really need them on your phone, and defenetly want to turn your phone off and take your battery out for at least 5 mins. this will refresh your phone and keep it working in optimal condition.. Good luck and enjoy the Viewty
You might want to check the length of the name of your files ...example songs cannot have a name that is more than 20 characters in name bc it will not display in your phone . Also the more files you have the slower it its to display them, keep that in mind
Instead of loading the music manager, click on file in the LG Suite box, and then click 'content'. This will connect without a problem (at least it did for me, despite music manager not working), and then drag and drop music from your pc files, onto your phone. Hope this helps.
