Question about Whirlpool Duet GHW9150P Front Load Washer
Will not wash in either NORMAL or DELICATES cycles. Setting of knob to either, there is no reaction; knob remains stationary and does not progress.
It WILL RINSE however in both cylces. That is, turning knob to RINSE results in water coming in, so solenoids would appear OK. Will agitate and spin the complete rinse part of the cycle.
Both cold and hot water inlets OK. Inlet filters checked, OK.

Had the same problem with mine, could be a number of things but in my case it was a relatively simple fix - but you'll need to buy a part.
Open the lid and look inside, the bit sticking up in the middle of the machine is called the agitator. Remove all the fabric softner and lint filter from it and you'll see one very small bolt at the base.
I concocted a number of ratches stuck together to reach it but once undone you can pull the enitre agitator up an remove it.
The agitator is driven by metal bolt with teeth at the bottom of the tub, however the agitator itself is made entirley of plastic, therefore (prob due to age) the metal teeth had eaten away the inside of the agitator and so it was just spinning inside its hole!
eplace the agitator and problem solved.

Testimonial: "thanks for the tip"
you can pick up a Y adaptor from a hardware store and fit a cold feed to both, it will take a few more minutes to comlpete cycles thats all, all new machines are fitted with a cold feed only to make them more energy efficent. the tech is talking pi**

Have you checked the water valve? here is a link showing how to replace the water valve http://www.youtube.com/user/RepairClinic?v=Fk4puRv3Vk8&feature=pyv&ad=5457342101&kw=washer%20valve&gclid=CI2f6tXrx6UCFRRKgwodM1sWZg
You should also check both side of the valve with a multimeter to assure that you have power going to the valve before you replace the valve. Please message me back if you have any further questions with the correct model and serial number and if there is anything else i can answer for you. please remember to rank how this opinion has helped in your appliance situation and have a great day
