Question about Gateway FPD1975W 19" LCD Monitor
Just added a ATI Radeon XT video card to my Mac Pro. Display (Gateway fpd1975w) worked fine before with original Nvidia card but blink on and off with this card, light on the monitor stays blue and no siganl loss is detected by the monitor. Got it down to the monitor because changing resolution, hooking up with a VGA converter or unplugging DVI connection and then reconnecting the cable solves the problem. Also made sure that drivers and rom version of video card were currrent. Apple could not help me any further because I installed the card myself. Does anyone have any idea what the F is going on?
What resolution are you setting your screen to? if you are setting it too high or to a resolution/frequency that your monitor doesn't support, it will do this. Try setting it to 800 x 600 w/ 32 bit color and a frequency of 60Hz. If you do this and the monitor still blinks, you may just have a bad DVI cable.
