If you are unable to open any attached file in your incoming mail and are using Microsoft Office 2007, run registry editor (regedit.exe) and scroll to the following location:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\Security

Copy the contents of the "OutlookSecureTempFolder" key and paste it in the Windows Explorer to open the OutlookSecureTempFolder. Delete all files in this folder and then run Outlook.

This location can not be browsed to and can only be found from the registry as it is different for all users. e.g. for myself it is as follows:

D:\Users\keekus\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.Outlook\R34DKK8O\

For earlier versions of Microsoft Office, you may find the "OutlookSecureTempFolder" in these locations:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\Security

or

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10\Outlook\Security

If you have managed to find your OutlookSecureTempFolder and have deleted all files from it and are still facing the same problem; try creating a new Outlook profile. Corrupted profile can also cause similar.

This is especially true since you are able to open the attached files from the server itself and only Outlook is giving you this error.

I'm not able to open my yahoo mail. Error is mentioned below - "Oops! Internet Explorer could not connect to mrd.mail.yahoo.com"

Try opening your email from another working computer. The message is telling you that it cannot find the server "mrd.mail.yahoo.com". I am not sure where you are located, but the incoming server for yahoo email is typically just: mail.yahoo.com or in some instances: incoming.mail.yahoo.com.
I am not sure what the mrd you have before the mail is supposed to be for. You can also try removing the mrd from the incoming server line in the email settings and then try to open your email again.

Windows mail gave me this error message: Account: 'yahoo mail', Server: 'plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR popgate unknown command', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server...

If you have Yahoo! Mail Plus (a paid upgrade), you can access those messages directly from a standard email program (such as Outlook, Windows Live Mail, etc.). You need to configure the account settings in your email program for the Yahoo service.

The settings for incoming mail are:
Incoming (POP) server: plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com
Port: 995
Security: SSL

For more on Yahoo server settings, see this Yahoo help page:

For details on configuring the WLM email program, see this Microsoft help page:

On microsoft office outlook , I cannot send/recieve. It tells me there is an error and I am forbidden?

Check your settings for "incoming mail server" name/IP-address, and for "outgoing SMTP server". They are incorrect. Call your ISP to get the correct values, and for advice on how to configure Outlook to use those values.
