I was working fine then it said paper jam and there is no paper jam at all.
Theres a white cam on the right side of the paper tray that will not rotate and those big 3/4 inch wide rollers are just sitting there in the paper tray and not feeding anything. The paper feeding tray that supposed to move when paper is fed is locked in the back position - maybe its that way because the paper jam light is on and the printer goes into a release position. (I turn power off and try to move it but no go.) BUT THERE IS NO PAPER JAM. I've already gone online to Epson site and done the trouble shooting thing. Please help if you can.

It happnes when I use a 4X6 paper, portrait. The paper stops at halfway. And all the printings are printed on the first line of the paper. When I use the wide paper, it does not appear.

the paper comes out a little diagonally because the right side feeds faster than the left - part of the solution was to re-insert the paper support plate so it moves the paper forward more on the right and it doesn't get grabbed as quickly as it used to be - but it is only a partial solution - I am thinking of taking the whole thing apart - the priner isonly $20 more than a complete set of cartridges i if I can't solve it I'll just buy another - text and photo printouts are good and reasonably fast - however, it is also slow to wake up sometimes

When this happened continually with our Epson C88 at work a few years ago, we beat it with an 8 pounds framing hammer. No joke. Ordered a new one, really solved the problem. So in other words, once this starts to happen, it's all downhill from now on.

Ink smudge on right side of paper

Chances are high that the process of clearing the jam has resulted in ink being released from the cleaning/resting pad area based over on the right hand side (where the printhead sits when not in use).
This waste ink has probable come into contact with the rollers and other parts over on the right edge of the paper.
You'll probably see this ink slowly fade out and disappear over time. If it doesn't however there's something effectively feeding things so check the resting pad for a loose tube, overflow, puddles, etc...
If there's anything like that, report back (preferably with images).

When the paper is fed it is pulled in w/ the bottom right side of the paper going in but not the left side, it becomes uneven and ends up jamming - what would be the reason it would grab and pull the right...

The most likely cause of the problem is an obstruction on the left side of the paper path - most likely a shred of paper from a previous jam. You can estimate where to look by how far the paper goes in before it starts to twist to the side. Sometimes I've had to use a dental pick to snag a shred buried deep inside as an alternative to dismantling the printer. You may find it helpful to use a small mirror to look underneath or behind rollers while you search for the culprit.

Another possibility is one side of a dual pickup roller (two rollers on a single shaft) is worn out. That is unlikely; except for large format units most printers use a single pickup roller.

My printer will not grab the paper

I have an R2400 and it is very finicky about grabbing the paper. I have to hand feed sheets of thick matte paper one at a time with just the right amount of pressure and even then sometimes it takes two tries. Make sure you keep the rollers very clean.

Epson C88 will not print, is flashing both paper and ink lights

I think you need to reset the counter, you can either take it into a epson service centre & have them reset it, or download a programme online.

you just need to google it, just type in service reset C88 that should do the trick.

Ref EPSON STYLUS 680 printer paper feed problems ,fails to feed paper but motor runs

try to look on the input tray maybe there are some foreign object that might block the paper, because this kind of printer has a durable pick up roller.

Paper fed thru several sheets at a time, and now all of them are stuck , cannot pull out from top or finished sheet tray

Try pulling out the center sheets first, as they are not in contact with any rollers, also if you look inside on the left side of the printer you will see gears that drive the paper through that you can turn with your fingers to drive the paper either toward the exit or toward the back of the printer.

Epson stlus C88+ printer: paper pulled to one side during printin

Chances are the sensor for grabbing the paper on the left hand side is defective. Try to check if there are obstructions as well

Hope this helps

Printer has problem grabbing certain papers

i have an r1800 as well and i solved this very easily.
usually most epson papers come with a sheet feed cleaning page- a thick piece of paper, same size as the rest, with an adhesive strip in one area. ya peel off the protective coating and put this sheet in and it rubs against the wheel and grabs off lint and stuff. I have done this and it sorta works, but mostly, i think its rather inadequate. plus, not all papers come with this sheet.

so what i did was, when the printer tries to grab a page and doesnt load one and its in the error mode, remove all the paper, and get a cloth wet with isopropyl alcohol. reach in there and set it lightly against the wheel and press the paper button. the printer will try to load another sheet and it will make all of it's usual noise, and the wheel will spin, be sure it's getting wiped with the alcohol. do this three times. then let it dry. reload the paper, and voila!
