YES! You will have to find another back for the phone or order one through a repair shop. If you are tricky you may try prying the clear lens cover from the inside of the back and replacing it with an equally thick piece of butyrate or lexan sheet found in RC model shops or something around the house, perhaps an old cell phone ((plexiglass scratches easily). Do NOT use superglue as it will cloud the plastic. Michaels has some white craft glue that dries clear or you can buy some RC-56 at the hobby store which is designed for this purpose (clear canopies, windows, and windshields). I am pasting this link from Howard's Forums to help you with disassembly. It has photos and everything:

Camera tart Error

I had this same issue! What I did to correct mine was this:

The camera lens is on something like a teeter totter. It has just come dislodged. With a lot of force (more than you would think it could take) place your phone on a table and put your thumb on the area that the flash/lens is, (mine was in the left corner) and press hard until you hear a snap or click. It took me several attempts because I was afraid of breaking my phone. But after I realized it was broke anyway, I pushed REAL hard and it worked!
Good luck!

I have dropped my lg Dare and now the touchscreen only works part of the time. Everything else is working normally. Can the screen be fixed?

Hello,

yes of course, it can be fixed. If you have a phone screw driver, you can open the phone and check if the touch screen flex is well fixed. It might be that it has disconnected or not firm to its normal position when it dropped on the floor.

But it you can check it your self, you can take the phone to a repairman.

Take care.

take the back off including the battery then just push in with your finger on the little metal plate around the two lens with a good amount of pressure, and put back the battery and turn it on, it will work :)

My LG Dare doesnt load the camera screen. I only get a black screen saying "camera start error"...What can i do to fix it??????

I just read another person's idea for fixing it and I tried it and IT TOTALLY WORKED!!!! What you do is take out the battery then press on the camera lens, specifically where the 3.2mpx words are. it seems to "push" the lens back into place. I did it and it's fixed! i'm amazed!!!

My lg dare's camera isnt working.

here is how i fixed my camera start error. take off back of phone. remove battery. then push really hard on camera lens/flash box on back of phone. i pushed it in the center and on all 4 corners. it then moved back into place and sort of snapped in. next time i tried it it came on as normal For future reference, the connector (flex) on the camera module is not tightly sitting on the logic board. applying pressure should be a quick fix, if you are still having issues, take a few screws off and the front bottom button cover off, split the phone open and unplug and reconnect the camera (clean any dirt, moisture, etc if visible with electronic cleaner, non-conductive)

Im getting a cmera startup error

Have you dropped the phone before?
I had the same problem too, apparently i must've knocked it a little or something.

The way that worked for me and you can try is:
1) turn off your LG Dare
2) take off the battery door cover
3) using your finger tips (or any other items like a pen if your fingers are kind of big) and press the four corners of the camera; not the flash, just around the black part of it

you don't have to press all 4 corners at the same time just gently because you don't want to break the lens.
4) replace your battery door cover and turn your device back on.
it should work like a charm now (it did for mine)

from what I understand is that the hardware part of the connections is not that well connected and this can happen when you drop, shock, hit, or what ever you can do to it that might loosen this connection. so you can manually "fix" this problem
some people try to send it back and Verizon gave them a new phone, but it will still happen...just be nice to it and protect it from shock, it should be ok.
