Question about Apple iPod nano
Try and use another set of headphones. If you are not getting any sound from the other set aswell then check the volume limit settings in the menu-> settings-> volume limit. And, if limit is set fine then there is a hardware issue which needs to be taken care by Apple service.
Please do accept this solution and revert for further assistance.

Check the volume using the buttons on it and also in your settings/volume limit. If that doesn't work, resync it with iTunes and see if there is a parental control in place preventing music to be played.
