Hi, if it has a ground wire or grounding terminal at the rear it needs to be grounded. If no terminal or wire grouding has been taken care of internally. If you are connecting to a pre amp, amp or digital recording device that has no grounding terminal then ground by slipping the grounding wire in the side of the left rca shield. Cheers John. i also have the same problem, im sure its something to do with the tone arm, like at the start of playing a 12'inch you have to hold the arm at the end of the vinyl for 5 seconds, have i answered my own question, i'll let u know ......
