Hi,
you can try TANG orange juice crystals. Its sounds strange but try it. Try two cups,( just put it in the bottom) and run it through a regular wash cycle. If that doesent work they sell the expensive stuff at the appliance store.

    Hi Again,

theres one thing I forgot about this post. put the crystals in and then put the dishwasher on rinse and hold setting, or if you dont have that setting close the detergent door and then run your dishwasher untill you here the detergent door POP open, then open the door and put the crystals in then. if you just start the regular cycle, it wont clean the interior as well.

    sorry!

the build up will be calcium from that is formed by the boiling water and a high mineral/lime content in the water supply
there are descaling products on the market that you can use on a regular basis to clean the lines
talk with a boiler retailer / manufacturer as to the process and descaling products

I keep having problems with the salt. I have put it on a clean cycle twice. I have washed out the spray arms but everything is covered in salt which is hard to remove.

That isn't salt. That is residue from extremely hard water. A water softener will stop that build up and will help to remove that same buildup from the water pipes throughout the house and will extend the service life of your water heater.

How do I properly clean the coffee maker and then get the light to go off?

Hi,

  1. Allow the unit to cool completely and unplug it before cleaning. use a sponge dampened with soapy water to clean the outside of the coffeemaker, then dry carefully.
  2. Open the reservoir cover and the filter compartment. Remove the coffee grinder lid, the grinder, the filter basket, its cover and the support.
  3. Wash the pieces along with the measure, the carafe and its lid in warm, soapy water, rinse thoroghly and dry. Then replace them in the unit.
  4. All these pieces are also dishwasher safe.
  5. Never pour water inte the unit when the grinder is not in place.
  6. Wipe the part under the filter basket and the heater plate with a damp cloth.
  7. Do not wipe the inside of the reservoir as this may leave fabric or paper residue.
  8. Do not use abrasive sponges or cleaning agents as these could damage the finish.
  9. NEVER IMMERSE THE BASE OF THE UNIT IN WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID.
The reservoir cover may also be removed to facilitate cleaning.

Descaling.
Over time and through normal use, lime deposits will build up.
Scale can interfere with the fine mechanics and give the coffee a harsh, bitter taste. For reason, your coffeemaker should be descaled regularly to guarantee good coffee. The frequency of descaling depends on how hard the water is and how frequently you use the coffeemaker.
  • To descale, dilute 30cl white vinegar in 30cl water, pour the mixture into the reservoir and begin a brew cycle.
  • Then run two full cycles by filling the reservoir with water (but no coffee) to rinse the system.
Hope this will help you.

Gritty white film all over dishwasher and dishes

Another way to descale your dishwasher is to use vinegar. This is also very inexpensive. Put a cup of vinegar into the dishwasher and run it, allowing it to go through all cycles. I would turn the heated dry off.

Get descaling solution at any drug store and follow the manual on the bottle. When you do this once a month that should keep your machine in top form

Dishwasher problems

Hi Bmissy,

I had the same problem with my dishwasher. In my washer the problem was caused by a buildup of water deposits throughout the machine. I increased the temperature of the water, used three bottles of "Dishwasher Magic" and now my machine is working well. I read that the rinse aid dispensers do not disperse enough of the product for extremely hard water, the solid rinse aid dispensers work better. I know that adding a little water softener to your washer when you run it can help. If you can't find "Dishwasher Magic", you might want to try running your dishwasher with a few quarts of white vinegar to remove the deposits on the coil. You may need to clean out the deposits in your washer regularly to keep the machine working well.

Dishwasher not cleaning

The dishwasher salt response is acceptable for Europeans, but U.S. dishwashers do not have a salt dispenser, nor is dishwasher salt sold in U.S. stores. U.S. consumers should descale their dishwasher using Dishwasher Magic, Lemi-Clean, Lime-A-Way, CLR, or vinegar until scale is removed from the machine, then add a rinse aid to the dispenser, which should prevent future problems. For very hard water, regular, periodic descaling treatments should be done. For the vinegar cleaning, place a full cup (8 oz) of vinegar in the top rack of the dishwasher. This way the vinegar is release throughout the wash cycles, performing a more thorough cleaning.
