My fridge is completely dead. I verified power is going in but nothing is running, no lights, acts like no power. What's wrong?

Seems you have a dead battery. Could be anything related to the charging system (alternator, control, wiring) or the battery itself. It takes a methodic process of testing to determine the cause(s).

Start by having battery tested and charged. If the battery checks ok and holds a charge then "likely" the problem is with the charging system, but it's a multistep process of elimination and very few parts store do a complete full load battery test.

If the battery test fails then you'll need to replace the battery and then promptly have the charging system tested to verify its working or you'll have another dead battery.

Once the battery and charging system has been verified functional you need to have a parasitic current test done. Excessive parasitic draw can ruin a new battery in a few months depending on your driving habits. Is this a daily driver or every other week or longer?

Was the security light flashing on the dash? If so, check youtube for videos on it

I am not familiar with this model BUT most fridge/freezers these days have a built-in electrical protection device [usually similar to a circuit-breaker] to protect the unit from any electrical supply surges and/or "shorts". You may find a RESET button located near the compressor housing. Press this and hopefully your problem will be rectified. Probably best to do this with the power switched OFF [although not always necessary].

You probably got some dirt and grime nudged in the wrong spot (like under a capacitor) when you were cleaning it out and it shorted out a section of your motherboard. It's probably dead. This happens every so often with very dirty computers.

Don't know the model/brand off the top of my head...

But: If the compressor is warm/hot, but nothing is happening, I ask this:
Even if the fridge is not cooling, is the compressor running, or dead silent?
If silent, but warm, do you hear a "Click" every so often ? Maybe 3 to 5 minutes apart, followed shortly by a 2nd click ?
If so, most likely the compressor has seized, and this is the over-current trip acting (thermal, so it needs time to cool).
Big problem if it is the compressor (expensive).

The only other thing that might cause a similar occurrence, would be if the compressor has a Start capacitor. If this has died, the compressor will not turn - just sit there getting warmer, as the over-current trip acts.

If it was a dead thermostat, the compressor wouldn't get power, and would be cold.

If the fridge is complete dead (no lights no fan, no compresor,etc.) looks like there's not power in the unit.Check if theres power in the oulet if you know how , if you don't put the fridge in an oulet that you know is power , if still doing nothing probably the cord is broken or burned and the power doesn't go throught it from the oulet to the fridge.

Plug some other device into these same outlets or use a volt meter to verify power at the outlet.
You definitely have a house wire problem if the interior light does not come on and the bulb is good.
Also check 120 volts power at the fridge cord where it attaches to the terminal box.

try plugging your refrig into a different outlet, or plug something else into the outlet the refrig is plugged into to verify power to the outlet.

sounds like the defrost clock may be going bad and or a door switch. Look for a hole that has whatr looks like a big screw that you can turn.

I ended up getting a new power adapter on the cord and it worked.
