You can get an adapter cable that will fit into the tablet's USB port. It's called an OTG cable. With that, you can hook up cellphones, digital cameras, thumb drives, SD card readers and many more things. The best way to do that would be to get an adapter OTG cable and a card reader. You can also transfer it to a computer and then to the SD card. If you don't have a card reader most digital cameras will work as one. Hook the camera to a ps and look for it in my computer folder. (works on macs also) and opens it. There you can put any file on the SD card. If using an OTG adapter to just hook it to the device's USB port and go to your file manager app. I would recommend an app called ES File Explorer. it makes it simple to find files on Android devices. Once you locate the drive (usually it's called USBDRIVEA) just transfer the music. Here is a link to a video that will help. I take no credit of video.
Then when you have it hooked up to your new computer via the usb port just transfer the files you need from the old computers hard drive to the new computers hard drive in windows explorer.
With a desktop computer and the USB cable you can transfer music to your SanDisk Sansa MP3 player. Simply hook the USB cable up to an available USB port and begin dragging music files to the folders of your SanDisk MP3 player1 Free a USB port on your desktop computer. Now, grab the USB cable for your SanDisk Sansa MP3 player and connect the player to your computer. 2 Wait for your computer to find and recognize the player. This may take a few moments. Once you receive a confirmation message, open your computer and scan the icons for the SanDisk MP3 player. 3 Open the SanDisk Sansa MP3 player on your computer. The music files that you currently have saved to the player's memory are displayed. 4 Open a folder containing music files that is stored in your desktop computer's memory. Scan the files for songs that you want to transfer to the SanDisk Sansa MP3 player. 5 Left-click on a song file and drag to the SanDisk Sansa window. Drop the file and let your computer complete the transfer. The transferred file appears at the bottom of your music list. 6 Unplug your SanDisk Sansa player from your computer. Turn the player on and allow the file transfer to update to the internal memory of the MP3 player.
I got the same thing - my computer would charge the device, but not recognize it to allow file transfer. it was the same for all USB ports. I tried using the USB cable from my old Samsung YP-T9, and it actually worked immediately. So it is not the device itself, but the USB cable, for some reason. I don't know how to solve the problem with the HTC HD2 cable, though.
First, try another USB Cable. If that does not work properly then I would suspect the box or the drive has failed. If you just bought it, return it to the store and complain. They may replace it. As for your data?
Now if you want to become techie you can remove the hard drive from the box and attach it to you computer either copy the files back if you do not have them on your computer or format the drive if you have your files. Then put the drive back in the box and try to get a refund or buy a different external. I like a metal box with an AC cord plug. Best of luck.
If that doesn't fix it trythe USB cable Screen Doesn’t come on anymore http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18859 If your Zen V is dead, wont respond to anything, try this, plug it in to the computer, hold the power switch in the on position, THEN trigger the reset button, worked like a charm for mine, I had thought it a lost cause."
Digital video on the ZR400 is transferred to a computer only via the DV out port, which will connect to a firewire port on a PC or a Mac. USB will not transfer video, only images to and from the card.
If you can't find such on your machine, then it's either disabled, the BIOS is out of date, the OS doesn't support your USB (Examples abound!) or other.
I cut my time loss by adding an USB PCI card.
