Re: will not make ice

It might be that sometimes the little trap door freezes, just open the door and from the inside of the door push it to release it.

I have an admiral American fridge freezer. The ice maker is continuously leaking water if the power is switched on as though a switched on. How can I stop the water ?

To verify if its the valve or the ice maker the easiest way would be to unplug the machine and then turn the water on. If the water stops, then the ice maker is bad and is continuously applying power to the valve causing the flood problem and should be changed. If the water keeps on coming out then the valve is bad and stuck open and should be changed.

The ice machine is not making the ice if i put ice in it will come out put it doesn't make it on its own

Most times it is the water control valve on the back of the refrigerator that causes this.If you fill the ice maker with tap water and let it freeze and it dumps then the valve is bad. Then if nothing happens when the ice maker freezes the water then the problem is with the ice maker. Thanks, and please rate this solution or let me know the model number so I can help you better, Sea Breeze

I have model 3XART720F02 ART706 TYPE 2055A The water ice distribution area needs cleaning. Can this area be dismanteled

Prepare the Ice Maker For Cleaning

Step1Lift the power located above the ice maker storage tray.
Step2Unplug the refrigerator.
Step3Allow the refrigerator and to defrost. This will melt any large blocks of ice that have accumulated in the ice maker
Clean the Ice Machine

Step1Remove the ice machine storage tray.
Step2Dump any water in the ice machine storage tray.
Step3Wash the ice machine storage tray using warm, soapy water. Rinse and allow to dry completely.
Step4Sanitize the lines of the ice maker. Consult your manufacturer's
directions for steps to do this, because it's not available on all models.

Reassemble the Ice Maker

Step1Replace the ice machine storage tray.
Step2Plug the refrigerator into the outlet to restore power.
Step3Lower the internal power bar located just above the ice machine storage tray. This allows the ice machine to make new ice.

Refrigerator gushing water through ice maker filter

Filters themselves don't usually leak. Check full insertion of filter, cracked filter housing or cracked supply line.

the problem is most likely the water valve behind the machine. it is closing too slow and letting too much water flow into the icemaker. c30b276.jpg

Ice machine quit making ice

The refrigerator has a duel water valve, one for the ice-maker and one for the water dispenser (if equipped). The valve that the ice-maker relies on may be bad, or it could be the ice-maker itself.
Another thing that could cause it would be the temperatures in the freezer. The ice-maker will not call for water until it reaches under 15 degrees. In addition, check the water tube behind the ice-maker to make sure it is not frozen, blocking more water from entering. The water does not go to the ice-maker or thru the filter unless the ice-maker turns on the water valve.

if you already checked this and think it is a different problem then let me know, i will help you figure it out.
