Question about Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ7 Digital Camera
When I turn on the camera, the automatic lens cover only opens about half-way, so when i talk a picture there are 2 black areas at the top and bottom of the picture. When I turn off the camera, The lens covers stay where they are and don't close. Any idea how to fix them, to make them open and close completely?
The lens covers are spring loaded. Over time, the springs get weak and or dust makes it difficult for them to opem/close. Get a toothpick and with the camera off, carefully nudge/excercise the doors so that the begin tooperate smoothly. Do not scratch the lens and never use a metal object that close to the lens.

To open them completely simply push them with your finger. try doing so also when closing them. i have the same issue sometimes.
