Your windings of primary to secondary must be in a ratio of 20:1. That is, for a primary with say, 100 windings and input 240 VAC, 5 secondary windings will give you 12 VAC. you need to rectify then regulate if you want 12VDC. Just buy an off the shelf wall-wart.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

How to make a transformer? What is the principle under it?

Do you mean an electrical transformer? You are far better off to buy one unless it is a special project. Constructing an efficient transformer is fiddly in the extreme.

The principle is that an alternating current (AC) voltage applied to a conductor will generate a fluctuating magnetic field around that conductor. The opposite also applies: a conductor in such a magnetic field will experience an AC current generated in it.

A transformer usually has 2 such conductors coiled around a common core, which intensifies and spreads the field. The voltage on the output side is controlled by the ratio of the 2 coiled conductors, or windings. So a transformer with 2000 windings on one side and 100 on the other has a ratio of 20:1. If a voltage of 240 VAC is applied to the first winding, a voltage of 12 VAC will appear on the other.

For calculation purposes the power is the same on both sides, so that lowering the AC voltage through a transformer implies raising the current at the same time, which can be handy. Therefore a transformer will often be rated by wattage, and input or output voltage. Note that a pure transformer will not work with or produce DC voltages, extra circuitry is required.

Good day, subject: LG microwave oven MS3448XRS not warming contents.Checked High voltage transformer 240 volt AC input-ok.Measure primary winding(0.2-0.4 ohm) measuring 1.1 ohm, secondary winding(70-100

Probably cheaper to buy a new microwave as they maintenance charge can be costly once put on a bench.
I am not able to help with this item.

Pool ligth stop working

Question posted under T10004RT3 pool panel with transformer.

If the pool light inside the swimming pool is out, but bulbs are new, then those lights receive power from the transformer. Check if transformer is humming and putting out 12Volts ac.
Check that bulbs are rated for transformer output voltage.
Replace transformer with 119T340 or 119T267.

If the 120Volt lights are not working, then these usually turn on-off with a switch. Check the switch

Dewalt radio 011 wont power up with ac or dc but the red indicator light will flash one time when pluged in either ac or dc but definitly got pluged into 240

Sound like one of the Capacitors on the Power Supply has blown.

If it's the same on both AC & DC then its probably on the output of the transformer.

If you can open it up and post pictures or see if one has a buldge in the top or liquid leaking out.

I have a customer that recently replaced his generator, problem is , he got a 120 VAC output. He has 2 SW 4024 for 240 VAC output. Can I hookup the 120VAC to the master inverter, or should I get a...

Hello,

I will accept the second option which is getting transformer.

Go ahead and get a transformer in order to step up the voltage. This is better than hooking up the 120V AC to the master inverter.

In summary, get a transformer to step up the voltage.

I hope this is clear now....

Good luck.

There is nothing on the display, conditioner is death. The power is coming, fuse on the PCB is OK?

Check power to transformer (220volts---24/12volts Dc) which leads to function PCB. If 24 or 12 dc is o.k, then you have replace PCB only.If no output of DC, replace transformer. Thanks.

Can ce 2000 be converted from 110 volts to 240 volts ? How much would it cost?

You could get an outside box called a Step down transformer that would deliver 110 volts to the amp. A quick look on Google should come up with prices.
All you need however is a new transformer. If you can find the specifications for the one in the amp it will be much easier to get a new one. All you need to know is the outputs of the secondary windings of your amp's transformer and current ratings. The primary winding will be 240 on the new one and 110 on the old. But you can get one with both!
If you ask Crown they might even convert it for you or put you in touch with someone who will.

I live in New Zealand which has 240 volt supply on the grid. The zantrex 2000 works with an input supply of 120 volts. How can I use it?

Hi, OK, there are two ways to achieve this. One. Using an external STEP DOWN Transformer, 240 V AC, to 120 V AC. The ONLY thing that matters is KVA. As long as the KVA is the same ir will work. This means as long as the Output Voltage and Current are the same, it's irrelevant whats on the Secondary. So if
The second, is to remove the existing transformer, and substitute with an exactly the same Secondary Outputs, BUT with a 240 V AC,. Input winding. Most likely it is a simple step Down transformer anyway, that steps down, whatever the external voltage is, down to say 12 -18 V AC. Therefor ANY suitable 240 V AC transformer with the SAME secondary winding(s) will work, no problems. You can even get some transformers Overwound, for 240 V AC, a very common thing, depending on transformer construction. There are a few transformer manufacturers in the "Yellow Pages" contact one of them and inquire.
As a tip, sometimes the existing transformer has TWO 120 V windings, and sometimes only ONE side is used, for US power, and for 240 V AC, you simply connect the other winding in series, and NOW you have got your 240 V AC to whatever.

Malibu lv341t transformer. is outout 12 volt dc

I'm gonna bet the output is AC because there is no rectifier circuitry between the transformer and the timer assembly. The lighting this is supposed to power does not require DC so why put in the circuitry if it is not needed. So more than likely it is 12V ac
