The power adapter does not work

There was a lightning storm and the power adapter does not work anymore. Tested the hard drive with a different cord, made sure it was lower output, and the hard drive turned on then a red light. So the adapter cord is shot, where can I get another adapter power cord for a simpletech external hard drive?

I have a Hype power stick 2200Mph and the cord won't fit in my iPhone 5c do I have to use another cord I thought it worked with my iPhone because that's the cord that came with stick

Remember that Apple changed the cable that them devices uses. Since iPhone 5, the apple devices uses the lightning cord. As you say, the hype power stick 2200Mph cord is the old cable of 30-pin. You'll need an adapter or maybe another cord.

Here you have an adapter certified by apple:
Lightning to 30 pin Adapter
Here you have an lightning cable that will work for you:

Well I think that the console might of had been damaged by lightning thats why when theres a thunder storm you should always unplug your consoles so they won't get hit by lightning I always unplug mine when theres a thunder storm. Well the sound module inside of the console is broken then so you could send it into console solutions then they repair old systems too.

We had a storm and now the wii will not even turn on.

Was the Wii running while the storm was going on? Was it a lightning storm? If the answer is yes to eaither one of these then most likely there was a power surge and the power supply and / or motherboard has been damaged

Mx6121 gateway laptop will not turn on. It was working while plugged in and then it just quit. No lightning strikes, storm, etc... I checked the power cord with another laptop, tried a different outlet.

I'm sorry to say it but, I think the power supply in the laptop may have gone bad. If the cord works with another laptop then it is not the cord that is bad. You will most likely need to have this looked at by a pc repair technician.

Use Sony ICF-C1IPMK2 in Europe

A transformer type (Linear Mode Power Supply) AC to DC power adapter with a 9.V nominal output, measures about 12.V without load when tested with a multimeter. A power adapter with a nominal output of 7.5 V, measures a little over 9.V. Considering a number of people across different forums reported the adapter's measured power output as 12.V, I think the nominal rating of the AC to DC adapter should be 9.V. However, keep away from Switch Mode Power Supplies.

Exact same problem

So, i have a laptop whos power supply was struck by lightning, and both the powersupply and the power house inside my laptop were fried. The sometimes on or off is because your Adapter is fried and giving random voltages, causing the computer to power off or overload. I would try getting a new adapter, but if the power part of the motherboard is fried, i would take it to a shop and have them diagnose it.
Good Luck

My scanner stopped working yesterday. Tried everything and no luck. Its an MP830 and the printer works fine.

Did you have a storm or lightning? Try unplugging the power cable from the left rear of the machine (not the wall). I have had to do this on several occassions after storms. Good Luck!

Try plugging in the Hard disk to some other power outlet, if it still does not power on , you may need to replace the drive. Sometimes, the problem maybe with the connector that is used to connect your hard disk to the main power supply. Check this cable with some other Hard disk to make sure there are no problems with the cable. If this also does not work , try getting a replacement (Incase your product is still under warranty).

Try checking your power cord adapter.
I found the same problem was with the cord.
Luckily, I had another Acomdata HD cord to check the problem.
