Johan, there is no way to determine if the 'gas is still full' if the compressor is not running.....so it could be locked off on a low pressure switch because all the 'gas' is already leaked out.

If the contactor is pulled in when the thermostat calls for cooling, but the compressor does not run check for full voltage on the incoming side of the contactor as well as on the outgoing side of the contactor. If its going in and not coming out, the contactor is bad. If is coming out and the compressor is not running, look for a burnt wire first on the contactor then on the compresor dome. Look too for a burnt wire on the capacitor on the terminals marked 'C' and 'Herm'. Check to see if the capacitor is expanded or swollen up. If it is, it is shorted or open internally and allowing the compressor to overheat.

You probably need to call a competent repairman unless you are comfortable working with high voltage and capable of understanding basic wiring principles and able to follow the wiring diagrams to determine where the fault is.

Safety is no accident. You will be exposed to dangerous wire connections and should only trouble shoot with the power on IF you are competent around electricity.

My air conditioner stops cooling. Occasionally, it will just function on fan mode even though I confirm that it is on cool mode. Warm air comes out even on the absolute coldest setting. I have to turn it...

If after reset the A/C cools then the fault seems related to the thermostat or the cut off pressure switch or load cut off.
However is there is no cooling at all the compressor and the gas pressure- check for leak if gas is absent.- must be checked .
If compressor is suspect you must check the estimate and decide whether it seems better to scrap and buy a new one.

Compressor stopped working. Air handler works okay. Checked wiring in thermostat-that is fine. Air handler is not frozen up. Breaker shows fine on meter.

Hi,
Check for power out of the contactor...is the condenser fan running?? If so then the compressor should have power...could be the compressor capacitor...or a bad compressor.

Check condenser coil is cleaned. Out door fan motor is working with full speed. If not replace capacitor. And also check Running capacitor.Check gas pressure, if newly charged. Thanks.

Just moved and installed my LG airconditioner. it does not cool, but warms.

Check it's in cool mode and temp setting is 3 degree less than room temp Check compressor is working with required pressure.60 PSI@ 98 degree Fahrenheit of ambient temp.If less pressure or no pressure, gas leak. Arrest leak and recharge gas.

My airconditioner buzzes when it trys to cycle cold air but it does not seem to click on and warm air comes out

Seems that the compressor is cutting off when trying to load, you might have to check on the capacitor of the compressor because a faulty capacitor cannot start the motor. Check also the relay unit if this is tripping due to the high load in case the compressor is faulty. unless we have teh compressor to run we cannot understand the fault of cooling. You can get help to use a clamp tester to see the starting currrent or if not check the compressor relay. mtor windings for shorting. Hope you try. Good day

Airconditioner cooling not workign despite three

I would check the system pressure. You can buy a leak detector. I would check all the fittings on the lines, around the compressor, condenser, and evaporator.

My airconditioner is cooling only for 10 minutes after starting it. Thereafter its cooling is stopped.

Check the thermostat located on the front of the unit and also is the compressor running when the cooling stops?

Airconditioner will not cool when vehicle is idling. But does cool when vehicle is accelerating.

the compression of your compressor is getting low. there are leaky valves that is why only at high speed the compressor would work right.

is you compressor noisy? that is a sign of a bad compressor.
