I had 4 computers on my home network. Unfortunately, my granddaughter took it upon herself to crash the main computer & somehow make my network go offline & unsecured, while creating a new secured network of her own by installing my d-link router software into her computer. I tried uninstalling & re-installing the software into a 2nd pc of mine, but cannot successfully install-therefore the only pc that goes online is the new main desktop-is there anything I can do to correct this?

Oh yes, I am pretty sure we can get this all back in working order. To do that, I would need some more information from you. Apart from the network problem, did she crash one computer and it is unusable now? If so, what are the symptoms? What Operating System is installed on the computers (Windows [95,98,ME, 2000, XP, Vista], Mac, Linux)? How are the computers connected to the router (wired/wireless)? What router do you have (brand, model, revision[if applicable]? Which software do you mean? Is that the CD that usually comes with the router? Please provide me with the details by coming back here and leaving a comment. Don't start a new post or I will not be able to find it. See you soon! hi

best thing may be

uninstall the router software first from all the computers and may install the router software first on the main computer then connect the router as per the instructions and then from the network neighbourhood create a disk to create a home network

cheers
