Question about Ultimate Chopper Food Processor
My Ultimate Chopper has worked fine for weeks, then suddenly the blade will not release. The release button depresses, but the blade does not come free and cannot be lifted off. As a result the bowl can't be removed either. It's almost impossible to clean it like this, so the chopper is unusable. How can I get the blade off?
Our blade just came apart at the seam just above the blade, so we know what's inside. There is a small v-shaped piece of spring wire that is spread apart from the stem that is mounted to the machine. When the button is depressed (it's on a tiny spring, like a mattress spring, and that's what makes it bouncy), it spreads the v-spring wire and releases it. If you can get the seam apart, it will release the v wire and not damage the machine. Replacement blades are available on-line for $13.95, and whole machines are available on e-bay. Good luck.
