How do I get color display? It's displaying black & white only.

I've tried the troubleshooting tips from the guide: -check tv mode video 3 -check player connected securely did that -press the [set up] button change player mode to right. All I get is a hand icon, no way to change mode to right.

I have a Syvania SSD803 DVD/VCR combo that I connected to my Panasonic Smart TV. DVDs play well with video and and audio but I only get black and white video. How can fix this issue?

There are a few possible reasons why you may be experiencing black and white video when playing DVDs on your Syvania SSD803 DVD/VCR combo. Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the problem:
  1. Check the video settings on your TV. Make sure that the TV is set to display color and that the correct video input is selected.
  2. Check the cables. Make sure that the cables connecting the DVD/VCR combo to the TV are securely plugged in and that they are in good condition. If the cables are damaged or loose, they may cause the video to be distorted or not display at all.
  3. Check the DVD/VCR combo. Make sure that the DVD/VCR combo is set to output color video and that all of the connections are secure. If the DVD/VCR combo is not set to output color video or if the connections are loose, it may cause the video to be displayed in black and white.
  4. Check the DVD. Make sure that the DVD itself is in good condition and that it is compatible with the DVD/VCR combo. If the DVD is damaged or is not compatible with the DVD/VCR combo, it may cause the video to be displayed in black and white.
If none of these troubleshooting steps resolve the issue, it is possible that there is a problem with the DVD/VCR combo itself. In this case, you may need to have it repaired or replaced

I have a Fisher DVD-S1100 DVD Video Player. Several years old. While it still plays DVDs, the color is gone and display is simply gray and white. Is this a common failure mode (it is not listed in...

Hello

Does your TV have two
separate video inputs, or just two sets of video input jacks and only ONE
video input

Try disconnecting your VCR from the TV (or turning it off) and see if the
color comes back on your DVD.

Also make sure that your video connections are properly connected(check your manual for how to connect the AV cable)

Also, try playing the DVD in your computer and see if it is black and
white on your computer monitor too. If so, then it is supposed to be in
black and white.

Black and White Only

I had a similar problem when I first connected my son's xbox using the Audio/Video cable (red, white, & yellow connectors). I connected the cable to the TV correctly, but incorrectly selected "component" as the input on the TV setup. Result was black and white display. Switch your TV input mode to "AV" or "Audio/Video" and you will get color.

FYI, "component" TV mode is only used with devices that use the red, green, & blue connectors.

Video output showing black and white display

Make sure the DVD is not on the PAL system. Trying to watch a PAL dvd on a NTSC TV or DVD player will play it back in black and white only.
