Try removing the battery for 10 minutes. Press and hold the Enter button for 60 seconds to fully dissipate power in the unit. Re-insert the battery. Then power it up. If that doesn't work, contact your Credit Card Processing Company and tell them you need a new one.
Unfortunately, there is no user software to "unlock" your Vx520. You would have to send it to a repair facility like TheMerchantMart.com, they have a very quick turn around and low price.

There are some credit cards that have RFID chips in them, they are only in the tap and pay cards like paypass or expresspay cards. You can buy a sleeve or an RFID wallet that will protect your card.
take a credit card and angle the credit card (c.c.) so that when u slide the credit card outward .... the mem chip has a VERY small lip on it thats what you want to try to get the c.c. to catch onto
