Accidentally washed v176

Ok, I accidentally washed this phone so its my problem - once I discovered I did this, I partially dismantled it and am drying it out - someone on another post mentioned dots turning red from white on the phone and/or battery - both dots for me are red - on the battery and on the phone - it is thursday evening and I dont plan on trying to even turn on phone until sometime friday at the earliest - I even removed the sim card to dry it off seperately - is there anything more I can do to help get this phone dried off so I have a better chance of it turning on and working at least long enough to get the replacement phone in my hands - it is my only phone

Re: accidentally washed v176

Assuming that you drained the majority of the water, if you have access to an oven with a gas pilot light in a well ventilated kitchen, putting the phone in the oven for a day or so should dry it out thoroughly.

The slightly warmed air in the oven has a lower Relative Humidity than the air in the kitchen. This is the same way that we dry fresh bread overnight for croutons or french toast.

Be certain to put a warning label on the gas valve so you don't get a melted phone.

Re: accidentally washed v176

You have a fair chance the sim is OK, so you can try that in another phone fronm the same Telco (Or an unlocked phone). Pretty much anything will do, from an older model to a pay as you go handset.

DO NOT turn the phone on until it's thoroughly dry. This can take nearly a week. Stick it near a warm source (but not hot!) to help accelerate it. If you can't live without a phone that long, then see above. :-)

Also your batter will be on its way out already, with shorter battery life.

All the red dots mean is that your phone is no longer under warranty. The dots will not turn back white when it dries.

Good luck!

When the phone dropped, the flex that connect the screen to the main board might have been disconnected partially, if the screen does not look disfigured or have any crack then it is the flex that is causing the screen shimmers at times.

The solution to that is to remove the battery cover, the battery and the sim, then unscrew the phone to dismantle it, after doing that, carefully locate the flex and replace it with a new one or sit it properly.

After doing this, your phone should be in good shape once again.

Take care and good luck

V176 Max # of Calls Reached

I don't have a solution, I have the same problem and not getting any satisfaction from Tracfone Service Tech's. They say they have never heard of this message before and after several calls, five, they still cannot tell me what the problem is. Has anybody else had this problem or a fix for it?

My motorola V176 Net10 phone glitched into tracfone mode, any way to change it back?

I have the V170 phone and had the "Max Call Numbers are Reached" message. I removed the battery and sim card then put them back in. When I powered up the phone I had to reset the date and time but the message was gone. My phone numbers were still in the phone. Everything seems to work fine now. Hope this helps

Battery Charging

If both the charger and the battery are warm to the touch, the battery is probably charged.

The low battery level warning level is learned by the phone. To train it, allow the battery to run down once until the phone stops working, then recharge it.

The best way totest the charging operation would be to try using the phone. Fully charged you should get about 6 hours of talk time from a fully charged battery, and at least a week of standby operation.

My Moto V176 does it have a USB connection and if so where ??

The way most cells work is you have to buy a USB cord for your specific phone. It will hook into probably the charger slot on your phone and have a usb attachment on the other end for your computer. You can get them really cheap on Ebay, if you go to your cell phone dealer the cord will probably cost you about 30 bucks.
