Question about Verbatim VER95327 USB Hard Drive
My Verbatim portable hard drive suddenly stopped working on my Mac OS X 10.4 iBook G4. Now it won't appear on my desktop or in my disk manager. The drive is also not making any noise. Is it dead? I'm terrified. Please help!
It sounds like your hard drive is damaged. Hard drives are very, very dilicate pieces of machinary. The disk is paper thin and any sudden jarring, especially dropping it creates a warp in the drive. It could also be just a mechanical failure. Unplug it to prevent further damage.
