Sounds like air lock
disconnect skimmer ( if you use one) from inside of pool
make sure the tube going from pool to pump has no debris at the motor housing
hair can build up there then trap other debris
no open you bleeder caps till water runs freely
once water is coming out and you do not hear air turn on the pump
let run for a minute then close the caps

Which salt water test kit(s) would you suggest for my 18'x52'' steel sided pool. i have a Krystal Clear system model CS8110 . what do you think of the salt strip readers?

Have the salt tested free where you purchase chemicals. While there, get a Taylor test kit to test for CL, pH, Alk, CA and Cyanuric Acid.

Salt is persistent in the water - translation - once in the water, it stays there, it doesn't go away except through splash out or back wash. Your salt should be around 3200 ppm. Get rid of the metals in the water before you do anything ... get the Alk around 100 then adjust the pH and introduce your CL. Cyanuric Acid protests the CL you are making. Some places call this 'stabilizer' and the reading should be around 60 to 100 ppm. Calcium is like salt ... persistent in the water ... lost under the same circumstances.

I hope this information helps you.

I have a saltwater pool The pump we're using is the Krystal Clear Saltwater Deluxe Model #8111. I need a owner's manual. Question: How can I get the green out of my pool I've vaccum and brushed the bottom...

You should not blindly ad salt
you need a salt test strip that reads in #'s not color
get your water to 3000ppm any lower than 2800ppm and you will not generate enough chlorine
any higher than 3500 and you could get cloudy water and trigger high salt reading not to mention the bad taste

continue what you are doing in addition add 1 gl of liquid chlorine to shock the pool with cleaning your cartridge out every 4-6 hours
once it starts clearing up start using a non foaming algaecide every 5-7 days just use the directions on the botttle Since you already have an algae problem, even though it will be clearing up you should go for the maximum dose the first time

As for OUR pump/filter/salt combo it is a piece of ****

I do not know your gl of water but here is a generic set

a pool needs turned over 3-4 times minimum in a day
so if you have a 5000gl pool and our filter at 2000gl ph you need to run it at least 7 1/2 hours at bare minimum

I now run mine 24/7 I generate chlorine over night and filter during the day even when being used
also you should check the front of your motor where the hose goes in this catches debris and hair that the skimmer lets in
with these pumps you need all of the flow you can get

speaking of flow we do not get enough of it so it is very important to use the pool every day if you are not then at least brush it every few days once you are green free

another thing to do is once you get the pool back to swimable

Have your best swimmer get in and clean under the seems with a toothbrush inside the pool
in the liner you should have 2 seems in the floor and one around the bottom between floor and side
you now will have a build up of algae in these seems that will not completely go away with shocking since it is protected by being wedged under the seem
Physically lift and scrub
any more questions let me know

Have no owners manual and can't figure out how to set the timer!

code 88

Is the Setup/Start up Code. it is displayed until you set the timer. which you do so by holding down the down arrow till you hear a beep, then hold down the up arrow till you here a beep. from there you can set the time and then to lock it in repeat the process

If you need the manual you can email Intex at www.email.intexstore.com
