Question about Garden

1 Answer

I have a DBW0777 1/2 hp Craftsman garage opner that was working fine until I tried to change codes to prevent a possible theft. I thought this model from 1994 had dip switiches but it has a remote transmitter that sends out codes either from the remotes or from the transmitter itself. Both my original remotes worked until I reset the first remote. When I tried to reset the second remote, the second one would not work. I reversed the process by reseting the second remote but then the first remote would not work. I cannot get both remotes working at the same time. My remotes are black with gray buttons. HELP

Download a copy of the owners manual from and look up remote programming. The process is pretty simple but you'll need a ladder to get up to the motor.
Report back so that we know how it worked out for you.

How do I change the code on garage door opener craftsman 139-53975srt1

If this is for the wireless remote control, press the learn button on the opener and then hold the button on the remote.

If you would like to chance the code on a wireless keypad, press the learn button on the opener, type the new 4 digit code on the keypad, and hold the "enter" button on the keypad until the lights flash.

The model number you give is for a remote unit. You cannot change the code on this. What are you trying to do? There may be other possibilities.

My interrupter cup keeps flying off on my craftsman garage door opner model 139.53648srt1

This sometimes happens after changing a drive gear. If this is the case follow the instructions below.

You probably did not have the motor shaft pushed all the way back when you tightened the coupler after replacing the worm gear. Loosen that coupler up and from the front of the motor (opposite end in which the coupler is on) push the shaft back as far as it will go. Hold it there while you tighten the coupler back up and then try it.

If you didn't just change the drive gear you will find the motor shaft is moving towards the rear and knocking the interrupter cup off. Replacing the drive gear with the new coupler and washers will cure this problem.

My craftsman door opner, opens about one foot.thin closes.

Check the door springs, then remove the cover and take a look at the drive gear. It is a white nylon gear just in front of the motor. May be stripped.

I have no idea what a 132C2105-3B is but try this. Hold the button down on the remote and then press and immediately release the smart/learn button. If the remote is the correct one for your opener it should work.

Garage door opened by neighbor

Have you seen the neighbor open your door? The reason I ask is because it is almost impossible. The most common cause of a door opening by itself is a bad wall control or the wiring leading to it. You can temporarily eliminate both possibilities by removing the wire from terminal 1 at the rear of the motor unit. Do this and ask your neighbor to bring over his remote and try it on your opener.
