Hard disk I/O error cannot formate harddisk shows no fixed disks how to solve

Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 ST380011A 80 GB Hard...damaged which shows when fixed to pc no fixed disk and cannot format or install system

Why hdd shows mbr error

Because either it was corrupted by a bad reboot or (more probably when considering the age of the disk) the disk is dying. Fix the MBR if possible or boot from a Linux Live-CD, recover all your files and replace the disk.

do a low level format with a software from hddgurudot com its free software. run it and choose this drive for low level runs through windows it will make a new list of bad sectors and add it to the p list of the hard drive company settings

Yes, it can be used that way. Do you already have an operating system installed on your first drive?

Disk can be formatted after installing operating system on the first disk or prior to installation if you intend to install the operating system on this disk.

Barracuda hard disk 80gb

the first boot sector of the hard drive is corrupt so fdisk wont work
please use software to repair the boot sectors zero and 63.
usually the softwares are superfdisk which is free on net.

also if you fail use seagate disk manager bootable version. it will be very quick and handy in long term too to format seagate hard drives

More than likely, since you say you did a DOS install of the OS, you did not set the FDISK parameters to set your primary drive. Insert the DOS CD you used to format the system. Boot to a DOS prompt and run the FDISK command. It should have an option, I believe it is number 2 or 3 to "Set primary drive". Select your hard disk 0 as this drive and you should be fine at rhat point.
