Re: auto radio

Turn the power off on the radio with the Keys in ignition and turned on. Press the set button. Use the search buttons to set the hours or minutes. It might be another button set.

I need the radio color codes for a 1987 pontiac lemans

You can get this at the local GMC dealer. You will need your VIN #. It will cost a little but is worth getting the right code. Hope this helps

I have a 2004 Pontiac Aztek, from the time I bought it, the display light in the radio doesn't come on(original radio) When the sunlight hits it the right way threw the sunroof, you can tell there is...

Sounds like the back light for the display has gone out. When that happens the clock will still work but the light is not their to push the display through. It is not cost affective to try and fix this just buy a new radio.

My cd player wont work but my radio does in my pontiac 2006 sunfire. Is it the fuse?

Absolutely not. The cd mech is damaged. If it makes a clicking sound when you press eject, it has a cracked gear retainer. If it just plain doesn't read discs or says ERR, it has a bad laser, which means it's time for a new radio. If you need to replace the radio, consider an aftermarket option such as Kenwood, Pioneer, Alpine, etc... It will often cost far less than a factory unit from the dealership and outperform it significantly (as well as offer better features like MP3 inputs).

I have a Pioneer AVH-P6600DVD system and the radio sounds lousy any suggestions

You're going to have to go into the menu and change the setup. It could still be set on the factory setting and that means that all speakers are set to flat.

97 Lincoln Towncar stereo displays "phone" and will not work. Display stays on even when car is turned off and locked.

this is caused by a defective logic circuit in the radio, Ford doesn't sell any parts or repair manuals to the public, the only places that get this are factory approved radio repair center, so the bottom line is u must remove the radio from the dash and send it out for repair to one of these repair centers, check with your local dealer for a name and phone number. to remove the radio takes a set of special tools that goes in the 4 small holes in the face of the radio, you can buy this Ford radio tool set from any good auto parts store like NAPA or Carquest, the counter person there can describe how they are used, it is very easy.

I have a 2005 gmc yukon xl and am not get fire to the amplifier...have new radio and amp...have reset the radio codes but still no do I get fire to my amp?

Is it all factory equipment? If so you need to go to your local gm dealer and have them program your radios serial number to your vin with a tesh 2 programmer. Sorry but if it is factory stuff that is the only way to get it to work.

The volume or maybe the speakers in my 2002 hyundai sonata stopped working. Radio still comes on but no sound. What can I do.

if you happen to have a speaker available, try to test the stereo. plug in a speaker and see if it works. otherwise, i don't really like this method but, it does work... unlug your factory speaker and plug a 9v battery to the speaker, if you hear a little popping/wizzing sound, the speaker works and it's the head unit.
also, check to see if the radio has an amp. sometimes the radio will be operational, but the amp isn't and that is the problem. and the easy solution is to replace the radio with an after market of choice. factory radio's that are purchased seperately are rather expensive.

Car radio replacement

Does the radio power up but give no sound? If this is the case, you need to make sure the factory amplifier is first turned on. the aftermarket radio should have a remote turn on lead for amps. The Dodge caravans sometimes have Infinity sound systems in them and there may be a green wire with a red stripe in the factory side of the radio plug. This should be amp trigger. 12volts to this wire should give sound. If at all unsure, please consult a local stereo shop.
