Most of the time after an appliance has been hit by lightning, it is toast. In the case of a printer you can probably buy a new one for the cost of the replacement part. Next time make sure you also purchase a surge protector to plug your computer and printer into and then you will be protected from lightning strikes.

LG LED (70UK6190) TV Not Turning On

Lightning strikes kill all the boards and components, 125.000 volts will do that!! Claim on your household insurance or take it to a repairer who has all the test equipment..

My jandy saltwater system is not getting power even though the power source is good. I think it got hit by lightning. What could be the problem and how much would it be to fix?

if it got a power surge then the cheapest fix would be a new unit or power board
call in a technician for the make and get a quote to fix

Lingthing hit my tv and the power don't come on.what o I have to replace

Almost always, the power supply board will need to be replaced after a lightning hit. If the cable or antenna input was hit, you will need to replace the main board also. It is usually cheaper to replace the TV than to repair a lightning hit.

Good day! We were watching TV when suddenly lightning occurred and our TV also turned off. What is wrong with this?

will tv turn back on. if not then it was sturck by lightning. i found that it does not have to hit directly.it can be caused by a power serge. witch means repair costs. when you get it fixed you need to by a power surge prower cord and plug your tv into it an all other things you don't won't sturck.

LG47LH30 lightning took out several appliances. TV won't turn on or any lights at all - acts as if it is not plugged in. Should I even try to fix? Are there interior fuses?

The lightning has fried at least the power source of the tv. Even if you you replace the source there are big chances that other components/boards have been also damaged.
There is nothing you can do to it, take it to a repair shop to have it diagnosed professionally.

Toshiba LCD 40 inch tv. Lightning hit my house. I have power on the board. Fuse is good. Transistors are good. Capacitors are not bad. Any ideas what to check next? Thanks

We will need to perform a component level testing to identify the source of the problem. If there is no standby LED and the set is completely dead you will need to test the stb 5V circuit with multimeter. That should help us figureout if the power supply is the source of the problem or the main board.

After my house was it by lightning my Onkyo

If your receiver was connected to any power source and that power source was not a surge protector strip there may be damage to the receiver as lighting travels. Another thing to consider is the fact that many people will put their equipment on surge protectors but the cable is still connected to the TV etc...This is just another avenue for the lightning to get into the home and blow up your system. I always disconnect any cable from my computer and TV. The power source from the wall is also unplugged when there is a storm just to be sure. Surge protectors are limited in their use as well. I don't believe they can take too many lightning hits. It is best to change them out.

Brother HL 2170W printer fried by lightning?

Wait until the printer cools and try again. As you said, you've tried from different power sources (including a different outlet). If still the same problem, unfortunately, your printer got the "hit" instead of the protected power strip.

LIGHTNING HIT IT

This could be bad.. You want to check the fuse in the power supply. If you are lucky that is all that is bad. If the lightning got thought the fuse you could have real problems. You would have to replace at least two boards, one being the power supply board and the other could be the signal board or digital board. Sometimes they unitize the signal and digital boards as one board. Lightning can do strange things. sometimes it will just take out a diode and fuse Sometimes it can trash a set making it cost prohibitive to repair.. Good luck.
